Hello, I have been here for a while and my love for the 5 digits Rolex is keeps on growing in me.I love it so much that I wanted to build my own model. As you can remember when I started here. My first post was about modding my bluesy but it went wrong. After years of practicing I wanted to try again. However, I would like to start with the 5-digits model instead. But I am having a hard time finding a correct case for this build. I have tried to email td about the case set but unfortunately, they can't sort them.so I am writes to all of you, experts on building and modding watches. Could you please guide me to the correct direction? I don't have a start time account and I don't have $1500 to drop on the case - as phong quoted me. My current thought on this build is

vr 3135 or vsf 3135
Gen date-wheel
Gen insert
Gen hands
Gen dial if I could sort one
possibly the WSO Real 18k gold bracelet and maybe a gen clasp or rep clasp is fine but The mid link has to be gold!
Gen crown
Gen Crystal or dXtal
The case can be with or without holes

Thank you in the advances

Is there any particular reason why you don’t want to buy a JF M2M and Franken it? They do come up for sale reasonably often. The stock JF case does need a little work to look its best, but it’s still a solid starting point. You can get the bezel plated. Gen dials for bluesies come up quite often on C24.

It’ll be an excellent project, and I really look forward to seeing how it progresses!

Thanks, My internet is not as fast as the other. The moment I find out there is a JF on sale, it’s a long gone. Lol, but I will start there. Get the JF or maybe the new ARF (904l) and start Franken it. Thanks. You know, your collection is inspired me so much! That I have to do it.

As the JF was replaced by its 904L cousin the ARF, that would be my first choice. The 904L steel and smooth ARF satin finish are stunning in person.

The crystal sits way too high on the ARF 16610s. As a result, the cyclops mag was likely adjusted to make it look right. This means that if you change the crystal to a gen or gen-spec to correct for the height issue, it will likely result in an incorrect date magnification.

ARF 116710 GMTs have this same issue. Many owners who have replaced those crystals with a Prof or gen ended up with wrong date mag.

Thank you KJ2020

It is a shame, because ARF LV is amazing

So we must wait for the next version v2 to fix the crystal heigjht and replace SH3135 (fat DW is horrible)

I didn't recommend the ARF, because when reviewed here it seemed to get too much flak for various issues. Seemed like it was off most enthusiasts' list until the revise it...
