And what are those smudges on the subdials? Those are not reflections.. Some of them, sure, but not all of them.

I ordered just the v4 dial Panda. So ill be able to see whether the subdials (at least on mine) truly have smudges on them. I will post asap as soon as i get the dial.

No, but the shine of the Silver Sub-dials is.

As long as sunlight doesn’t hit the Noob sub-dials, they are ok (not enough shine to be a tell) but when light hits them...man they look obnoxious. While the black ARF seems a tad bit thicker (when the outer shiny sub-dial ring shines), it still remains fairly matte during different lighting. In my summary, nothing has changed in v4 white or black. You still need ARF dials, gen hands, crystal and CF bezel. Many members think v4 Noob bezel looks better but thats one part of the equation, we still need to see how good the paint holds over time. My CF bezel is a champ even after 12 months now.

I’m new to this, I’ve been following this post from the start and the more I read the more confused I get as to the best Daytona to buy.
I would like to purchase a current top quality Daytona which is as close to the original Daytona as possible and has a top quality face.
I have recently purchased a Submariner from InTime and have found them great to deal with.
I have chosen to following Daytona from InTime: DAYTONA 116506 904L SS CASE NOOB 1:1 BEST EDITION BLACK CRYSTALS MARKERS DIAL ON SS BRACKET SA4130.
Any advice would be great.
Thank you.

The “best” (which by itself is a subjective term) ootb is the Noob 116519 v3 grey dial. This is Noob’s best dial and the v3 bezel is pretty good or you may replace with CF bezel. You will still need to change gasket to remove white border. Put on gen hands and crystal and this model becomes indistinguishable from gen unless someone weighs it.

The gen in this model is WG and the Noob is about 30 grams lighter being SS but you will be hard pressed to find someone who will call you out on the SS vs WG. Even on side-by-by side only experts who can recognize the slightly warmer hues of gold will be able to tell the difference. I only know 1 person who owns the gen, being a $29k watch the gen is rare..so I can wear my Noob without any worries.

I must dissagree..direct sunlight or very strong light isnt issue with black dial subdials but the very low DIRECT light
this is strong direct sunlight and looks gen with thiny shine coating and matte finish like gen
And direct low light not good
also i must add for arf black dial thickness isnt onlly issue, also it is too matte and too white compared to gen which have gray-dark moments and have like little shine coating on lights
also from few angles gen goes dark grey as you can see on pictures and arf is always white in every angles
so no black daytona imo isnt even close to gen yet

After reading a lot throughout the forum. Everyone is saying that the bezel of the CF is the best so far. I have the Noob V3 and just ordered V4.

Is it worth it to purchase the CF bezel and replace the V4.
Jtime quoted me $158 for the CF bezel plus $55 shipping. My total cost will be $213 for the CF bezel. Then I have to find a watchmaker to replace the bezel for me.

Is it worth it guys?

Nope. I think V4 bezel is way much better than CF but everyone on this forum prefer CF bezel.

If you factor in the watchmaker installation charges, you'll probably end up aying around $250-$260 all in all just to replace another rep bezel which I find totally not worth Moreover, no one's gonna use a magnifying glass to scrutinize the bezel engravings while you're wearing it.

Or you buy the Dial separately and put in a 116500. Many gen owners do this.

Why do you think v4 bezel is better? Appearance is just one part, we need to see how good the Noob paint holds over time. My CF after 12 months is going strong (no paint issues).

Long time lurker here. I've read through the whole topic, and some others regarding the Daytona reps. I like what I'm seeing so far, but my only question is about the movement. How durable it actually is, and is the chrono function fragile, or can it be used without having to worry too much about it breaking? I know it's a bit like a luck of a draw, but I'm curious what the opinion generally is on those A4130s in Noob Daytonas?

In searching for a rep Ice Blue/Brown Daytona, I actually found the fake JTime site first! Glad this forum got me pointed in the right direction.

So, on the topic of the watch, what do you guys think of this one? Seems like most of the discussion in the thread is for the black or white dials.

So, I’m sure you know the gen is platinum so the weight is way off and an obvious instant tell.

The other concern is the subdials don’t have their own individual sunburst within their particular dial which is another tell.

Other than that the flaws are similar to what’s already been discussed with the 116500’s (font on dial and bezel etc).

Also, there’s a thread dedicated to the discussion on this watch (116506).
