ARF 116610 bracelet on a Gen Explorer II 216570?

I tried to search but found nothing about the 216570 so I'll ask

Has anyone tried to swap the Gen bracelet with a ARF bracelet off of an ARF Sub?

Why would I do this? My Gen is a safe queen and when I wear it I'm always worried I'll scratch it up. The clasp/bracelet is what seems to be the area that would take the most abuse so if I swap it with an ARF bracelet I think that will help my worried mind!

I think it would fit. I doubt anyone has tried it, the 216570 is not very commonly owned by repsters. ARF bracelets are well made and generally pretty interchangeable. The bracelet would be an easy flip if you can't use it.

Here's an ARF DJ36 oyster on my gen 16710. Fits like it was made for it.

Both bracelets are 20mm, the clasps are different at 17mm on the Sub and 16.5 on the Exp II

To my knowledge, the new explorer II 216570 has 21mm lug width, so ARF 116610 Bracelet being 20mm would not fit.

I think that the 216570 has 21mm lugs because of the case size in 42mm. I owned it gen, but I sold it.. but when I was looking for a rubber strap I remember that the exp needed a 21mm and the other sport Rolex (daytona sub gmt..) needed 20mm

Get the ARF DJ41 126334 bracelet. That one is 21mm at the lugs. But you will need to swap out the clasp because they are different for DJ and the sports models. Both Jubilee and oyster are available from ARF with 21mm width.

Did something change about the way we should post pics? I don't remember having this kind of issues, doing it that way when I sold a watch a few weeks ago.

Anyway. I apparently found the one inaccurate chart on the web that said they were the same! I've since found may other sources that verify that the comments above are in fact correct.

I sold my rep 216570 CHS that I bought on here to a member on here after I bought my gen. I have now purchased another 216570 rep from intime to wear because I guess I'm too worried about screwing up the "good one" wearing it in my daily rotation. What the hell is wrong with me!?!?!? I purchased an ICHS model to avoid worrying about the time bomb issue since I'll have to reset it every time I wear it. EXPLORER II 42MM 216570 NOOB BEST EDITION WHITE DIAL A2836

I also added a ARF bracelet to my order. I know now that it won't be a direct swap to my Gen, I'm thinking I will try to see if I can swap the glide-lock clasp off of it and put it on the Rep 216570. I don't care if its not correct for the Explorer II I love the glide-lock on my Sub better than the easy-link. I don't know that a ARF clasp will work on a Noob bracelet, but I will soon.

For how seldom I'll probably end up wearing the Gen now that I've repurchased a Rep I'll just leave that the way it came from the factory.

Your chart doesn't have the 216570 on it. If you have the gen, just measure the lug width.

LOL!!! That is where I screwed up. I saw 16570 and my mind just "assumed" it was 216570. I have no doubt that the 216570 is 21mm now.

On a side note thanks KJ2020 for the write up and all the posting you do in regards to GMT movements. When shopping for my replacement for the 216570 Rep I sold it was super easy for me to shop through the options of A3186 (Correct Hand Stack), the A3187 (Correct Hand Stack) and the A2836 and know that the trusty A2836 is the one for me since I'll be setting the time every time I wear it.

That's a great idea as well.

I was thinking if the screw pins are the same on the ARF Sub bracelet and the Gen Exp II I wonder if I could just hook the ARF bracelet to the stock SEL? I've got the same bracelet on my ARF Sub so I can try later and see if that would work.

I'm sure the answer is to just wear my Gen and enjoy it. I know the 216570 isn't the rock star of the Rolex family but I really connect with it and don't have plans to sell it so I want to keep it nice. I was buying Reps to decide what to buy as a Gen. As I held the Rep that I sold to Sh3113r and the Gen side by side before I packaged it up I really had to think how foolish I was to pay what I did for a Gen vs what I paid for the Rep. I think I'll struggle to pay Gen money again when the Reps give me the same enjoyment wearing them, especially without the concern every time I bump it on something!

Success! I left the Rolex SEL and the first three links on each side that don't have screw pins, but replaced the rest of the links and the ez-link clasp with the ARF links and glide-lock.

Nice bro, glidelock is one of the best Rolex inventions. I suffered for years with an ill-fitting gen bracelet and clasp. I scavenged the first rep glidelock clasp I got and put it on my gen. No going back.

I figured it would work, the success really is how good it looks. The ARF bracelet is damn close to gen

Just don't mix up your gen parts on a rep, haha. I made that a rule, never use my gen watch parts on a rep.
