Well, it is now 2020....and movement discussion.

After reviewing the 3135 super clone movement in the Noob v10 and ZZF v2 Subs. Discussions bout the 2836 have been determined as reliable, yes but has the 3135 improved to the point that it is worth the money for the new products coming out? I believe that both movements will support Franken'n watches....

Thoughts?

ETAs are still much easier and cheaper to repair or replace. Aftermarket parts are readily available, while parts for 3135s are not unless you buy gen parts.

The question is, for those who have purchased or own a 3135 how has it been working for you?

SA - crap, SH - patchy, VR - good, but also too early to say.
The point is largely moot - most watches get flipped when a worthwhile upgrade becomes available.

I'm having my SH3135 serviced as we speak! I'm hoping that it turns well. But I still think a swiss eta is well worth the investment- they're pretty bullet proof!

+1 I love a Swiss ETA, it's a final upgrade to reps I keep.

Same experience here with Sir srhoque: VR3135 > SH3135 > ETA 2836. And while we’re at it, I must say Noob get’s the trophy for their super clone 4130 movement! Awesome accuracy and most superior Power reserve at > 72 hours. Just my 2 cents.

Amen. The SA4130 is in a league of its own. No other rep movement like that. After service, I get the same specs as you.

Haven’t had a VR one yet but my SH3135 is running like a champ after servicing. Originally, my reversing wheels were crap so I took them apart and realized that the little levers did not poke out far enough to catch the teeth of the internal wheel. I was about to buy a set of gen ones but figured I’d give it a try. Slightly bent the levers up a little and they work perfectly. The only thing I hate about them is the wheels’ paint. I just peeled them off since they’re basically latex. I’d rather just peel them off instead of little chips of them falling off and getting in to the gears.

They keep time ok. When it first got to me, it was losing about 2 seconds a day. Now it’s about 5-7sec/day so it’s not bad but it’s not perfect. For the price though, it does what I needed it to do and what I needed to. Accept a 16800 dial and hands that don’t look like they were stamped out of tin foil.

I think they’re worth it as long as you get them serviced, you should be good to go.

I have a recently serviced sh runs well but does run a little slow - not the end of the world though. I’m still on the fence as to whether i should go for the vr or 2836 in the zzf sub.
I don’t want to go through the hassle of sending away for a service, so prob gonna have to go with the 2836. But I am curious to get my hands on the vr3135 .... looks like a great step forward from the sh .

Not so great. I got a JF OP 39 over a year ago. Got it serviced right away with genuine reversing wheels. I though ti worked great for a little bit and then I realized that the watch isn't telling the right time. Doesn't seem like a winding issue. It was getting frustrating and embarrassing. Since it works intermittently, can't tell you anything about how long the reserve is either. Watch looks good, but basically is a brick.I am looking to send it for repair/maintenance.

The Noob 4130 is amazing. And the VSF Omega 8500 clone is still going strong.

Maybe I got a lemon?

SH3132: Killer movement after service.

SH3135: Had good experiences with it, even unserviced. Had it like a month non stop on the wrist.

SA3135: Piece of junk that never ran well, even after service

VR3135: Runs like a champ. Not serviced.

All movements i had were stock, no gen parts.

What about sound? I have heard that the 3135 movements are much quieter

VR3135 after service is super quite. In mine, even the rotor is so silent that sometimes I have to take it to the ear to make sure it still works.

I've been thinking about getting one and changing out the Balance Bridge for a Gen Rolex 3135-120 Balance Bridge Movement and Gen Rolex 3135 432 Balance Spring along with the Complete Automatic Device Module Assembly . Any thoughts / experience with this swap?
