Dr Fun Socks, go to the watch parts section. Sir Sub007 is selling the genuine crystal retaining ring for the sub 116610 for 235 Euros. Still available. Just FYI. Hope this helps.

Just to clarify im not looking to make crystal retaining gaskets, just the thin white bezel retaining ones. Crystal gaskets are pretty easy to get a hold of, bezel ones not so much. Ill try to take a picture of one later.

So not the crystal gasket i have crossed out in the first pic, the little ring inside the bezel that holds it on, ive pointed at with a screw driver in the second pic. Hope this clears up any confusion.

Would be definitely interested in several. I nearly mangled one of mine when I was reattaching my sub bezel assembly.

Do you happen to know sizing on these? I can measure it on watches i have but anything bigger than a sub from rolex just feels odd on my wrist so i haven't got any. Ideally i just need to know the biggest diameter from the range (probably the dssd) so i can order bar stock big enough to accommodate it.

I’ll do some disassembly and measuring at some point.

I dont need the full measurements right away, just let me know roughly the diameter of the crystal. The gasket wont be more than 5-7mm bigger than that so ill order the material which might take a week or so to come.

And I imagine you mean, these rings. Or at least, they look like these.

Yeah they are the annoying as hell versions found on some reps. Luckily most of the watches i open up have the plastic version. I hate the metal ones, i have one in my parts drawer, looked at it and thought nah ill order some teflon and turn it down haha!

Dr Fun Socks, any luck, I’m in need of a couple, the correct name is hytrel fastening ring and apparently the side profile is L shaped.
Aftermarket ones available on eBay from at least 2 merchants but they are just square not L shaped.

Ive got a big bar of teflon sitting next to the lathe now i just haven't had a chance to make any yet. Ill be honest most of mine are pretty worn so if anyone has any input as to the rough dimensions of the L shape it would be much appreciated. I can see that the side closest to the watch will be the thicker side due to the cutout in the crystal ring.

I'll definitely be in for about 5 for the 43mm sea dweller if they will work

I still don't have a sea dweller or any sizes related to it. I can make them, just need some sizes from someone. do you have a part from a sea dweller you can measure?

I was lucky enough to get one for the GMT in Dec 2019 on ebay. This is the part number if anyone wants to know.

Mate if you can measure it i would appreciate it. As i say I've got a few subs but none of the rings are mint and id rather base the dimensions on as fresh a version as possible.

I found these on eBay and they have a “spline” built into them on the outer edge which goes into the bezel slot, so the profile is more like a T than an L.

This makes machining more complicated but its still feasible. Any one tried them to know if they work? Its much cheaper than manually machined ones will ever be so if they work stock up!
