Looking through the listings on the TT web site, Andrew lists and shows pics of the 3186 on every 6 digit gmt. ARF , VRF, noob. Also he has a noob with a 3285 and a noob with a 3186 and I know the listings aren’t always accurate. And I also know he doesn’t remove old listings.

Does noob have 2 CHS options available? And if they do, are they both inconsist?

And the arf and vrf movements, do they both function in a similar way? They’re both chs, they both have functioning gmt features. Similar power reserves? Other than the robustness of the hour jumping hand, are there any differences in functionality or operation?

I addressed this in my OP, under ETA MOVEMENTS "TDs will often list these movements as A3186, or A3285 or “Asian superclone”. Do not be fooled! Learn to ID the movement as an ETA clone, and know what you are buying".

Ask yourself, where is the hour hand? If on the bottom, ask yourself, what is the movement? If ETA, it can only be the 2824 timebomb.

These can and do have different fake engravings but it is the same movement!

And the arf and vrf movements, do they both function in a similar way? They’re both chs, they both have functioning gmt features. Similar power reserves? Other than the robustness of the hour jumping hand, are there any differences in functionality or operation?

These are both new movements so data is very sparse concerning reliability, PR, etc. They do both function like the gen in terms of date setting, direction of crown movement to advance hands (forward), etc. So far, there is no clear winner except for the better JHCS (jumping hour click spring) in the VRF. That is enough for me to choose that movement.

One other thing to take note of - the gen 12xxxx series uses the 3285 movement and has the coronet logo at 6 o'clock on the dial. It also has only Jubilee on the SS models. The gen 3285 advances hands forward by turning the crown anti-clockwise. This means that a 126710 Batman or Pepsi with one of these superclone movements would have an incorrect time setting direction, ironically the opposite of the incorrect time setting we've all lived with for years on previous GMT reps and movements.

Have a look at these links for more info

Yes thank you. I caught that in the first post about having to look for ourrself. The problem is they used the same Pic of the case back and movement for like 4 different models and at least 2 factories (maybe even 3. I know the info isn't always accurate on the dealer sites but to use the same pics is crazy. So you can't even trust the pics even of you know what you're looking for. Which, when you're not super familiar with the models and the movements and the factories, you can't even study the listings to familiarize yourself.

I always say with a watch in hand, I learn twice as much twice as fast. I think I may have to just jump in as I'm sure at that, point things may start to stick more.

As opposed to studying obsessively and still not retaining info because it conflicts in so many places.

To make it easier, for now Noob is only offering GMTs with the 2824 timebomb. Previously Noob offered both ETA choices so if you buy an older model M2M, it could have either ETA in it. Sadly, other factories are also making fewer GMTs with the 2836 and seem to be pushing the timebomb 2824. BP, GMF in particular. That should tell us something about the cost of the 2824 movements. They are cheaper to source.

My Noob V8 Batman with 2836 ICHS. Wouldn't change a thing.

VRF makes one with the new SA3186, based on the VR3135 movement. The insert isn't stellar, but really not many rep Batman inserts are great. Probably your best bet right now.

To be accurate, a Batman with oyster is a 116710, no coronet at 6 o'clock on the dial, hands advance forward with clockwise crown rotation. The VRF checks all these blocks, but the case is reported to be engraved 126710 (d'oh). Look at the movement pics to reinforce your movement recognition skills.

VRF Batman released

The only other non-timebomb Batman CHS option is the new BP DG3804. It is much cheaper and has the Frisbee (oversized) GMT hand hole surround. Might be a good cheap alternative, I will have a couple of these models in hand soon to evaluate. Send your TD one of the links from this nice set of listings below.

A Batman with jubilee is a 126710, has coronet at 6 o'clock on the dial, hands advance forward with anti-clockwise crown rotation. The BP DG3804 CHS Batman checks all these blocks. I would bet VRF will evolve their model into the 126710 at some point. If so, the VRF would lose its correct time setting direction with the crown.

All the new DG3804 GMTs (non-TD)

The insert on the new BP DG3804 CHS actually looks pretty good, obviously noting the incorrect color transition point at 18. You can also see the GMT hand hole surround clearly in this NON-TD link and pic. I don't find the hand hole surround a dealbreaker, maybe I'm a little more forgiving than others. That or my vision isn't what it used to be, lol.

Thank you so much for all this information. Your knowledge of GMT movements is impressive.

I tried to use you post to identify the movement of the new BLRO from NOOB (model 126710 sold with jubilee bracelet, quite expensive) and which is advertised as an A3285 movement with CHS. Would you have any idea of which movement it actually is, and if it is reliable? Any other feedback from a specialist on this model would be welcome ;-) (quality and defaults vs. gen)

All current Noob GMT rep movements being offered new are 2824 timebombs

This one is the only one so far. It has the mew superclone movement from VRF. It comes only with the oyster bracelet. Nobody knows when there will be a jubile version.

Thanks bro for this great review.

I have read somewhere, that the 2824 (CHS for 5/6 digit) has been upgraded to 2836 CHS to be more reliable on 5/6 digits. So basically there can be existing both. Can you confirm this?
