Are BP reps good?

Hi everyone. I was looking for a sub rep and i saw those BP reps going for a quite low price in front of a higher price request for ARF or NOOB. About 200€ sometimes. I was wondering if ARF and NOOB were so much better on the wrist...

the only BP reps that are valid are the 16600 and the 16613 (they are both the best OOTB).

avoid BP for the 6 digit stuff

That's a bit of an overstatement. I have a number of BP watches that are quite nice. Some that easily rival the more expensive ARF or Noob offerings, often at a substantial savings. BP daydates are arguably the best available in both 36 and 41mm size. The day fonts are much better than Noob. And nobody comes close to BPs full gold wrapped bracelets.

BP Datejust ‐ $238, couldn't be happier with it. Completely stock.

BP Daydate 36mm - $358, one of my fav's

BP Miyota Hulk $368, best Hulk rep dial ever made

BP Explorer I - $348, hands down best ETA version

BP Explorer II - $278, nobody make these anymore

BP FG Sub - $378 recent V2 release. Outstanding watch for the price

And vintage GMTs? OMG bro NOBODY touches BP! I'd be here all day posting shots!

I have 4 bp rep, apart from dial color, everything else is not good if you own noob or ARF rep. no good finishing, quite light bracelet, rattling sound etc.

Important to remember 5 digit bracelets are light and rattle - 'Rolex Rattle'. They are not as heavy and solid as 6 digit references because they are not supposed to be.

My 16710 is my favourite watch (just look at it for goodness sakes...). It needs some gentle loving with a Dremel and some felt to tidy up the edges on the bracelet, but at $270 no one is complaining.

I think they are sensational value for money when you consider a Noob or ARF is going to set you back close to double that and still be full of flaws.

BP 6 digit oyster bracelets and clasps are fine IMO. I have used the BP Hulk Glidelock clasp on my gen GMT since getting the Hulk in April 2018 and sourced a replacement for the Hulk. Best upgrade ever for my gen. I agree BP President and Jubilee SS bracelets are generally lower quality but the oysters have been OK for me. BP gold bracelets are generally better than many others.

Could not have written it better myself, so I will just quote you! :)

My first rep was BP Daydate. Loved the piece but I couldn’t pulled it off around people... too much attention lol

I‘m thinking of getting 16610LV from BP until I find TC to replace lol

That looks great on that bracelet. What did it have before?

Hey mate is that kermit 1:1 in dimensions with gen? Not talking about thickness, but width of the dial. It seems larger

Rep ETA dials in general are typically larger in diameter than gen dials. Sometimes rep ETA dials also have an ETA date window position. This is done so no datewheel overlay is needed to move the numbers over to the gen-spec Rolex date window position. The date window is simply placed over the native ETA datewheel position. This saves time and money at the cost of the date window being 1mm right of the proper Rolex position.

This issue does not arise when the rep movement is an SA/SH 3135 because the movement datewheel is in the same position as the Rolex date window.

So, to answer your question, the BP 16610 and 16613 ETA dials are probably a little larger than a gen dial. They probably also APPEAR even larger than they are because the date window and the cyclops are moved 1mm right of gen positions. This leaves more open space to the dial center.
