Hi All,

I've spent the past 3 months waiting and waiting for my Hulk to be shipped by the TD (Lucy) and now that it finally arrived the bezel clicking was faulty. I read a lot of reviews and watched videos showing how easy it was to take on and off so I did that. But now the bezel wont go back on. I have the gasket exactly where it needs to be but it still wont go on. Whats worse is I tried so hard to get it to click on using the same methods from tutorials that a small part chipped out from the bending I assume.

So, what are my options?
Can I buy a new bezel from any of the TD's? Is there a secret method to make it pop back on? Should I just buy a new watch and hope to recover some of the loss by selling parts??

Thanks

Take a look at this post and see if you get any new ideas.

What piece chipped out?

You can ask a TD for a new bezel assy, I've never gotten one but if may be possible. Failing that, you could get a caseset, which is everything but the movement and dial/hands. Then sell your spare parts.

There aren't too many things about a bezel that can't be fixed. I've bent bezels and ruined gaskets and lost springs and balls and always managed to find a way back.

Examine your bezel gasket inside edge closely. Does it have a stairstep profile to it? Both ARF and Noob do, and the orientation matters. Noob is bottom step down, ARF is bottom step up. It may come to you needing to shave the case retaining lip a little.

Look about halfway down in this post.

VRF bezel construction is when one remove the bezel the xtal pops off as well. I belive one need a xtal press and / or a bezel press to reattach it. Obviously the insert is aligned after the bezel is pressed into place.

Hey mate, I really appreciate your reply. I searched all over these forums but someone missed your previous posts. I've bought a watch press and will follow your advice when it arrives. Here's hoping!

Thanks, I didn't realise that. I have a watch press coming now so hopefully that works. I've already chipped the bezel in this process so I will just have to keep an eye out for a replacement.

Man am I bummed. I didnt even get to have the watch for a full day :(

Make sure you remove the insert before you try press the bezel on. Sure way to crack it if you don't. Use these to reattach it.

You're in good company with not being able to enjoy your new watch, lol. I made a rule no touching anything for 30 days after learning the hard way.

Thankyou again.
Unfortunately I already have a smallish chip near the pearl from trying to get it back on. I think I will just try to get it back on as is when my bench press arrives and then keep an eye out for a new bezel. I've also bought a replacement 3135 hulk from Trusty (he has been the fastest TD for me so far even though hes not a TD on this forum anymore) so hopefully it arrives before the wedding I got it for next month.

You are so right. Hindsight is everything by God I wish I had just left the bezel with its missing clicks. I will not touch new watches within 30 days ever again hahaha
