President bracelet vs small wrists

Hello,

Im encountering following problem with a president bracelet:

540.jpg

The clasp is too far to the right side causing the links to create a 90° corner.
The Rolex crown however is perfect in the center of my wrist.
There are no more removable links.

Can I just grind away one link causing the clasp to move towards the left?

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards,
Johan

You can. I had to cut a jubilee link out after the screw head got too mangled up to use. Just be sure of how and where you grind or cut.

What is actually the correct position of the clasp on the wrist, centered or a little bit off center to the right?

Ideally it should be centered for proper balance and aesthetics

Thanks!

Just asking because some clasps are too curved to comfortably sit centered.

Noooo! You're wearing it all wrong. Don't try and centre the Rolex Crown with a Presidents bracelet. The Crown should be another four or five centimetres or so to the left (looking at your top photo). The underside of the clasp should sit in the middle of your wrist, not the Crown.

He asked about centering the clasp, not the crown. Which both of us told him to do.

Although originally it was the crown that was centered, probably by chance.

Indeed, but just wanted to make sure he's not trying to centre the Crown.

For me the inner clasp which folds together when they are closed it should be in the middle of your wrist. That makes the bracelet sits nice on the wrist

Exactly, which I think it's what we're all saying, but in different ways (badly in my case)!

When the inner clasp is nicely centred, the crown on the clasp will be way more to the left on OP's original photo.

Thanks guys!
Already cut away one link with the dremel (5min job)
and its a lot better but I think I'm going to cut another one
tomorrow.
I also ordered a new clasp since this one has a lot
of play (rep is 7 years old already)

Yeah lol! So the point is, dont worry about where the crown is. Worry about the curved inner buckle. Ha ha...

No need to dremel the links off. You can just use a set of pliers on the inner most link. Press down very hard with the pliers and the link will separate. Doing this will also destroy the link obviously but it is just easier and safer than using a dremel.

I used to use this trick on the old 5 digit subs. Since my wrist was small, the only way to center the clasp while also removing all links on the 6 side, I had to break one more link off. This is because the 5 digit subs had an additional link already built into the clasp.

Thanks,

actually I used a combination of both :p

I put the outer link in a vise, dremeled away the other outer link until the first pin was cut,
then used vise-grips and pulled apart the links while twisting the other outer link.

Succes! :)
