Hi everyone.

I'm a bit new in the forum but not in the reps.

I'm thinking about building up a 653X. Was wondering if anyone has experience with Ruby's cases. Is there any difference between the cases? On top of course the crown. What is more accurate fir 6538 or 6536.
Another question is about mods needed. I hope is lighter than with other less accurate as silix, HR or tiger.

I hope I'm not repiting the topic, I can not find any post about it.

Thanks to all for your comments and recommendations.

What you need to do is study the genuine watches first- there are distinctive differences between the two models. The 6538 had the greater depth rating- 200m/660ft whereas the 6536 was only rated to 100m/330ft. This shows up in the case- the 6536 case is clearly thinner. Also the 6536 has a 6mm crown and the 6538 has the 8mm crown. Dials indicate the depth variations. Both had the 1030 movement. It really comes down to which watch you want to build. These cases will be more accurate than the HR, Silix and Tiger Concept and cost more. Good luck

If you’re looking to spend less than you would with Ruby, I have an old Yuki 5510 case I’d part with. I also prefer the 55XX models because you can use the more reliable and available 15XX movements if you use gen parts.

Yes. Clear about dials. I was wondering if cases are diferentes as per gen references. Is it the 6536 thinner than the 6538? Or they just change the engraving and crown? I do not know if anyone in the forum knows it.

It seems 6536's case profile is thinner in appearance, but not sure actual measurement from crystal to caseback. The base on which caseback mounts seem to protrude a bit on 6536.

ask Ruby to send you a couple of side shots of the two cases. BTW, I just looked at her website and the pic of the 6538 didn't show up- maybe it's gone.

Yes....gone already... I was taking a look when 6538 and 6536 were available and seemed the same pics to me except for the first pic and the one where the tube was shown. But thanks for the advice I didn't know that I can ask for pics.

I experencied that is really difficult found correct thickness on 6536 case.
6538 is more easy to build.
