Hello,

New here, I did some reading, it seems some people get the liquid ripple dial and some do not?

Is it a defect? I would like to buy ZZF over ARF but it seems impossible to detect if you would get the ripple issue from QC pictures.

ARF does not make 114060. Yet.

Ok I did not know that. Thank you. I wouldn't mind going ARF with a cyclops if all ZZF has a ripple dial. But it seems like only some people get it. Which makes me wonder if it's just an early batch defect?

Guys when setting time on this zzf 2836 decorated movement, does it move like gen or is it opposite?

I agree, why go to such lengths for a part that cannot even be seen. It's not like you are going to open the watch in front of people anyway. BTW, if they are just for decoration how difficult is it to take them off?

Take the rotor screw cap off, rotor off, then usually 2 or 3 screws to remove the deco plate. Replace the rotor and done.

The crown screws really grainy and gritty but try applying a drop of gun butter oil and it will screw in like butter even better than a Gen. below is the link, I use this to my Glock but perfect for the crown.

https://www.amazon.com/Gun-Butter-Pen-Oiler/dp/B00B2VFWUE

Gun oil has no place around a watch. Gun oils are designed to spread, exactly the opposite of watch oils. Wipe the threads of the tube and crown with an alcohol wipe or clean them with Rodico. The crown and stem can be soaked in Naptha and rinsed in alcohol, with or without use of an ultrasound cleaner. Then use silicone gel lubricant on all of the O rings in the tube, outside the tube and in the crown. Removal of dirt and debris is what ensures smoothness, adding oil just creates debris paste. The square part of the stem tip should get a couple drops of watch grease if it is removed and cleaned (moebius D5 or Molykote dx).

I used Wd40 for the bracelet though. Not sure if it's good for the bracket. Realised the bracelets always felt rough and squeaky. But after spraying some wd40 it feels smoother to the touch and no more squeaky sounds.

^^^ this is too complicated sorry but no time to take out the crown (got bad experience with keyless), the drop was on the thread not sure what you mean by it will "spread"? if it spread inside the watch no big deal change the movement hehehe, this is what I love about reps you can bang it, without a fear of destroying it because I am not spending my 401K. Also, not sure about debris paste, the gun butter is what I use in firearm which I use to defend my life and others that s*** needs to make my slide go smooth not to create a gunk, anyway haven't seen any in my rep in a week of use I will report back if something bad happen.

As of now, it screws like a butter and runs +2/ day, I will consider your expertise when it stops working, cheers!
