Best Yachtmaster 116622 Blue Dial out there!

    Hey Guys,

I am currently looking to buy the best possible version of the mentioned Yachtmaster 116622 Blue Dial. I have been through multiple TD's - websites but cant quite decide which to go with. Anyone here purchased this exact watch and/or willing to give me some advice? I have also read that the grey dial 116622 tends to be closer to the gen in most cases, can anyone second this?

    Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I chose the GMF version but wasn't happy with the QC pics so changed my order tot he ARF.

Havent accepted the QC yet but I am still not happy with a few things.

What things specifically are you looking out for?

In terms of movement what do you think is the best bet? Currently looking into Asia 2824 & 3135 but getting mixed reviews.

The GMF had a wonky date, the 12 marker wasn't even symmetrical (I'm on about the steel border where the lume is meant to be in), overall the bezel looks crap and the qc provided was of a dirty watch. TD should have atleast cleaned it up.

The ARF is much better in terms of QC pics but TD did not clean the watch again so it is difficult to know if its dirt or a flaw in the watch. TD also left the plastic wrap hanging off the bezel which was trapped under the insert. asked TD to clean it up but can still see bits of plastic on the edges.

I wont be ordering from this TD again as the qc quality has gone downhill compared to the past.

I wanted the 2824 purely because of reliability and cost as you have the option to swap the movement out for a replacement if it dies. Had the settle for SH3135 ARF so fingers crossed it lasts

Wow! Its just a stunning piece.

After having done further research, this is the exact spec I will be going for. Which movement did you go with? I am leaning towards A2824 for the sake of reliability and the ease of change to a potential ETA 2824 in the future. Did you put the pieces together yourself or did your TD do it for you?

A2824 will not give you any problems. I bought the JF dial and hands from Trusty and a local watchsmith assembled it for me.

I'm doing an exact same build for my customer, I've gone with ARF yachtmaster, hybrid VR3135 movement and genuine glass with rouhlette date wheel

                    Chrck it out

That looks so good bro. I would be tempted to put in an all red DWO it looks so good...

Thats an awesome build, not sure on the rhoulette date wheel though. For the blue dial YM I feel like the combo of the red second-hand and 'yacht-master' logo, give the watch the perfect touch of red without being too much - thats just personal preference though
