I missed this one by minutes.....Thought the dial looked different and the price of 50 GBP thats like $67 but someone beat me to it. Always good to have spares

Looks like an LF V1. They aren't bad. Came with either 2813 or 2836. I have one. The date window and cyclops are in the ETA position. The LF V2 was a huge WTF revision - a 6 digit case with a 5 digit bezel and aluminum insert. Huge crown, big engraved rehaut (never in a gen 5 digit GMT), fat lugs and CGs.

LF V2 - so many things wrong with this version OMG.

I used my LF V2 to make a custom DSSD. I love that dial in blue/black but not the ankle weight case. I did several iterations of the DSSD dial in some other cases but the LF V2 ended up being the absolute perfect case for this fantasy mod because I really wanted an aluminum Kermit insert in a fatter SD type case. The ugly duckling GMT turned into this after I sanded the rehaut engravings off and reshaped the CGs a bit. One of my all-time fav's.

Was thinking of BP dial hands crown movement into this case. Would it fit? Is the case a worthwhile improvement ?

Interesting. I think that as the BP has the ETA derived ICHS movement it probably will not fit "plug and play" in a case meant for the Rolex movement as the crown sits lower.
I like the drilled lugs and the CGs seem good. I try to compare the pics on that seller's website to @KJ2020's pictures but as the angles are so different I can't really tell if it is a worthwhile upgrade over the BP.
I think it depends on how much the seller wants for it also. I am very fond of my BP Pepsi, it is my most worn rep right now. Just so much value for the money. If the case is very expensive I would not think it worthwhile.
BP also have a CHS version but that has the "CHS Lite" DG3804 movement. That movement is less reliable than the trusted ICHS ETA derivate. That may be plug and play.

I wouldn't put BP ETA parts into this case. The description says it's made for a 3185, so the ETA parts would probably fit with some minor modding but I really dont think the case is enough of an improvement to warrant what I'm sure will be an exorbitant price from Ming.

The lugs are too long, lug tips are too thin. Chamfer is too wide, outer bezel rim is too thick, insert looks too narrow to be gen-spec. Without any case modding, I'd take Nembo's offering plus a thin caseback over wearing the Ming OOTB.

You are right about the price KJ2020 I enquired and fell off my chair €€€€ . But by all accounts gen spec sizes and gen bezel snaps in. Thank you for the heads up I’ll take a walk on the wild side in the other forum

Until then my Bangkok faithful

FYI the Tiger Concepts caseback fits, according to folks posting earlier in this thread, you can by a case set only here for $99, I am inquiring on whether or not they will sell just the caseback to me. Will update when I have an answer.

A little late night bezel foreplay, fading an insert for the bp. I like this one, came out nice.

And yes Ive used loctite for gluing inserts in for years. I place the smallest pinhead sized dots of it at 12,3,6,9 on the lip of where insert sits in bezel...align insert and press down firmly all within 20-30 seconds or else glue will dry. When it comes time to swap to a new insert it will come out easily with a few sticks of double sided mounting tape. Then you just scrape out dried the dried glue from the lip it will flake off and then clean with some alcohol.

Always sick to see such posts.. see a lot of effort in it. Also so nice to see how BP is close to Gen, also for the DD40s (which I have also)

Are those BP 16710 GTMs still available? I don’t see anything on TDs webpages.

5508v6.

This is their GMT reference #, so the case set marked as such should be the one.

Should be noted i personally have not tried this caseback, but several people above in this discussion mentioned that it fits.
