Looks good!, just received my QC as well. I have gen parts on the way so hopefully they’ll fit after case modding

Your work is incredible. Have you looked at Adrians ado213 work with the BP Sea Dweller 16600. He put a genuine crystal, TC Dial, TC DWO, TC hands, Gen crown and tube, TC Bracelet in one of mine and in the other a Genuine Bezel, Bezel insert, Crystal, Dial, Hands, Date wheel, Crown and tube powered by a Yuki 3135 that has a few genuine movement parts plus TC Bracelet. Back in the Day TC made 16600 parts.

Thanks mate, yes I looked at adrians work.... he’s does amazing things with the seadweller case and I was hoping to do the same mod, I wanted to know the method he used to hold the case in the lathe chuck, there’s a few ways to do it but was curious if he used an arbour or a collet. I have the latest BP SD but haven’t broken the case down to check the crystal measurements... I was hoping BP may have updated the specs lol probably wishful thinking. One of my next projects will be the 1675 BP case but will remove the crown tube and micro weld a dowel in to then re-drill for higher stem hight for 2824 modded to gmt. Shave the case also Hopefully this will give me the nice correct crown tube hight.

You should PM him if he doesn't respond I will contact him and ask him to look into this thread as I will probably be using him for the 16710 project. What gen parts are you getting and from where. I know I dont discuss my Gen parts suppliers in Public so if you want to PM me go ahead. PS: where are you located?

It seems he would be very capable to do the mods for you. I’ll update some measurements once I receive the case and see if it’s even feasible. The only issue could be that once you machine down the OD of the rehaut to 29.50mm you reduce the amount of material between the dial seat under the rehaut and the outer flat where the crystal caskets sits against. This flat area is critical as when pressing the gen spec retainer back on you could actually break the rehaut off completely under the force of the press. It’s literally like 0.4mm of material left over but offset so it has some strength. I’m not sure the process used for the seadweller case will work in the way of creating a new separate rehaut for the gmt case. It could work but it’ll be a bit more complicated as the bezel retainer needs to press over something (the rehaut) that’s part of the case to work.

I just have a gen spec bezel and assembly coming. I normally just source parts all over the place from eBay to chrono24 but only if the price is right those two sources are like expensive junk yards sometimes lol
im located in Australia.

Here’s a quick update on theOkay I received the BP 16710 and began case work straight away. the bezel was almost impossible to get off because of the spring wire design. The case measurements are pretty good and it allows me to use my old noob dial and CHS movement. There was enough meat on the case to machine it down to take gen spec bezel assembly and install a gen crystal.

I also machined the step off the back and face grooved a new o-ring seat ( had to be deeper after removing the step off the back)
I also found an old MBW bubble caseback which I machined a flat on and got it down nice and thin and refinished the back to look like a newer 5digit caseback. Plus I drilled lug holes.

Removed the ugly chamfer of the sides and reworked the crown guards. I will mill the crown guards properly tomorrow to get them more gen like. Here’s a few pics so far....
ps- the bezel in the photo is from a sub 16800 and is just an example until I receive the gmt bezel
something else I noticed it the blue balance spring in the clone 2836 haha

mnkoshka Wow man you could seriously earn some good money here modding these cases for others. In fact, I'll take that one when green, haha!

Really nice work bro!

Hahaha You’ll be the first to know mate, thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately the bezel set I received from wso is complete rubbish. Might have to use the gen parts if I can find them.
