HG in da house
I love to hear these new build stories... Everyone's suggestions here are spot on.
I initially wanted to build an LV for the MAXI dial/handsets configuration.
I'll throw in a little curve for you and this is what I ended up doing with my build and LOVE IT!!! A gen 116610 dial and handset are easier to come by then the respective LV dial / handset. The cool blue lume is so nice...

The LV insert is gen and the "shine" is what separates it from the JF and TC inserts...

I took me some time to build this one b/c i was impatient. I'd get a new part and want it installed right away...
My suggestion would be to determine how far you want to go and start collecting the parts...
Good luck with your build and enjoy the journey!!!! BTW Kermit looks good in LN and LB flavors...

The lume is completely wrong

What?! Oh man how'd I miss that... guess i should throw it out...

Ahah :)

Joke aside, did you ever consider replacing the pearl with a blue lumed one so that it matches the dial and hands?

16610LV insert = no
16610LN insert = possibly
16610LB insert = possibly

obviously the LN and LB inserts are readily available, but these are gen inserts and I just don't see a reason to change the pearl. I don't look at my watch much at night, but I personally enjoy the difference... There's a separation from the bezel and the indices...

Just settling into my JF...

DW upgrade top of list
Bezel is a little wobbly... going to look into options.

May end up going rustic leather over the bracelet. It’s just not at the level of the newer models.

TBD. For now, I’m enjoying a little green in my life which is less obviously a rep than a hulk.

I love these Kermits and I'd like to find one for myself, possibly with another dwo, I have too say that the JF stock one is simply horribile!!! JF made a beautiful rep but with a terribile date font.

update guys: watch has been serviced by a watchsmith, the datewheel fit with only a little bit of shaving needed.

curious to know if a gen dial is worth it? give me some thoughts!

A gen dial for that watch is impossible to find. I found one on Rolex forum but they wanted $3,000. The gen dial for the ln is easy but the lv is a unicorn.

Putting a gen 3135 DW on the JF 3135 clone is fairly easy. You just have to put a gentle nudge on the little tabs that are on the edges of the date wheel plate. Then it will flip just like gen. You didn’t really need to shave anything but if it works, it works!
