I think the pics explain it better lol
Im assuming that when I remove the bezel, the metal crystal retaining ring should be bind with the nylon and crystal portion and not on the bezel side like mine in the pics. So, I’m trying to figure out a way to remove the crystal retaining ring from the bezel.
Btw, from my pics do you think the white nylon gasket is a noob and not Gen??

You're right that the crystal retaining ring *should* stay on the case, although it's not uncommon for a crystal and gasket to come off when removing a bezel. At this point I think the best way to get the retaining ring out of the bezel is with a crystal press and a perfectly sized die that will miss the insert but contact the top edge of the retaining ring. I have shaved dies down or otherwise modded them (to allow for a cyclops for ex.) So it may need something like that. It would get pressed out from the top down.

However this isn't going to fix your issue as it would just happen again. Your crystal gasket looks like it might be a Noob (uncertain) but I have read that it's common to need to use rep crystal gaskets with replacement crystals whether they are Prof, Clarks or gen. Your comment that the bezel wouldn't rotate when pressed all the way down indicates the retaining ring is stuck too high in the bezel. You may want to consider asking your modder to help explain what is happening and provide assistance correcting it.

that make sense, thanks!!

I think maybe that's why Vac reused the noob gasket because the gen crystal came with 2 new gaskets that he returned back to me. I tested the gen gasket and it is a lot more loose compare to the noob gasket when installed on the case without the crystal. But, will it tighten up after pressing the crystal retaining ring onto the gen gasket? Or it's just not possible? lol

No you can't really force a gasket to a smaller diameter. You could try boiling one for 5 mins and check the fit for improvement.

The darkart knowledge of this community is amazing! lol I will try boiling it when I get a chance.

I think I have to stop chasing perfection on the rep game lol

That's the name of the game bro, you are just getting started! Seriously though what you are doing here is not chasing perfection but just trying to achieve a properly functional Franken.

Yes, I just want a good franken that is reliable, looks good, and won't give me any more issues lol But, so far it has been nothing but headaches lol

finally got the Gen gasket on and pressed the retaining ring all the way to the bottom. It is a lot more tighter than the noob gasket.

Now the the same issue came back lol when I press the bezel on, it won’t rotate again lol

Good job with the gen crystal gasket and retaining ring. Check your bezel gasket, is it intact, not deformed and where it's supposed to be? Not getting caught on the way down during the press? It is a gen hyrtel ring right? When this happens with a rep bezel gasket, it's either because the gasket is deformed or stretched out, or it's installed upside down. See if the bezel gasket has a profile on it's inside edge (like a stairstep).

Thanks!! But now it’s so tight that I can’t remove the retaining ring lol

this is the Hytel ring (seems ok)

sorry about my drawing lol
on the Left is how the hytel is installed, like a “7”

on the right is a comparison between the retaining ring side view. It seems like the Gen retaining ring is shorter than the noob, maybe causing the bezel sitting lower? But then again, the bezel is also Gen, why won’t it be compatible? Weird....lol

Are you using gen insert and bezel assembly also? If not it’s definately the the gasket

your Hulk looks really awesome! love the spongbob insert!

It has Spongbob insert, Gen bezel, Gen Hytrel ring, Gen crystal retaining ring, Gen crystal gasket, Gen crystal, Gen click and springs.

Do you think it's because the gen crystal retaining ring is shorter than the noob causing the issue? But the bezel is gen also, which is why I don't understand lol

should fit snug as a rug and work with no issues. You sure all parts are 100% genuine? My suspicion would start from that first. If not what movement v9 do you have? The noob retaining ring is taller, but that would cause a big gap from bezel to the case, which is not your issue.

It has the updated Noob SA/AS 3135 movement.
After I press the bezel on, the bezel is sealed with the case with absolutely no gap.

I’ve taken some pics for the Gen parts. I assume they should be Gen. the crystal and crystal retaining ring are all blistered. The bezel came wrapped in plastic. They are all from Viper on TRF.

I think I've figured it out. I have a spare 116610 2836 case which I swapped the crystal retaining ring and bezel over and it worked perfectly. So, to conclude, It's my franken case issue lol

That was my next guess is the case

I am assuming that the outer surface of the case is taller than the inner surface (where the crystal retaining ring sits), concave-shaped. Maybe I can send it to get it machined, or just get a new case? lol
