Hi guys,

This is a simple pretty straight forward project, so i'll leave the pictures do most of the talking.

Inspiration for this came from looking at this Bergeon tool :

The bergeon extractor is not that expensive but i needed the tool fast so ordering one online wasn't an option for me.
I didn't know exactly where to start but after a quick trip to the hardware store... i came back home with this :

A 1.7 USD plastic compression fitting :) .
Not exactly the right shape ootb but after some simple mods here is what i came up with :

I've used a lathe to reshape the body of the fitting and an exacto knife to reshape the teeth of the white part .
If you don't have access to a lathe you can just grind away the parts on a piece of 80 grit sand paper against a flat surface.

Testing the DIY bezel remover :

The fitting works in a similar way to the bergeon tool above.
You just need to fix the bezel inside the teeth first , tighten the fitting so the teeth 'bite' into the bezel and then, just give the watch a few twists.

The bezel popped out right away !

Ingenious bro! I might try one of these to see how it works on a bezel with hyrtel ring and a case retaining ring. Like Subs and GMT. I think those have some more resistance. Nicely done!

This is awesome....I wouldn’t recommend for subs and gmts. This click springs, ball bearings, etc could fly all over the place. Recommended for Daytona’s, explorers, and DJ anything with fix bezel.

One could try and remove the bezel inside a plastic bag :)

Spatiumtemporis , I've already told you I am a fan off you. Now I am giving you the title of "RWI MacGyver"

haha, thanks man !

capice i'll make a few more and when i do i'll send you one for free.
Kleinerzauberer can't manage to find this exact model online but i bought this from a local hardware store . I guess you'll be able to find one similar to mine. The correct english name should be : END CAP compression fitting D40 PN16 .

I love how people over RWI appreciate a simple diy tool that will work and save them some money ( thanks again guys ) while some people over TRF find this to be a dangerous dodgy tool :) A guy has even expressed fear regarding bending the bezel or rehaut  .

I think it's common sense this will never be able to bend or damange the bezel regardless of how tight you screw the fitting.

I wouldn’t worry about some guys in TRF. Some of them would pay someone to adjust their watches an hour ahead or back when daylight savings occur. Alot of them are Monday morning quarterbacks. Everything is still under warranty and it’s not an issue to drop a G note. Here at RWI, you have to have balls of steel to do what some of us do. Overall, this is an awesome tool. Keep up the great work.
