The listing advertises the watch movement to be based off the A2836, isn't that the "safe bet" movement?

The web description is wrong, although the 2824 CHS timebomb is often mischaracterized as having a 2836.

In my thread that I linked for you above, I explained how to identify what you see in the ad pics.

1. The hour hand is on the bottom of the handstack, so it is CHS.

2. The movement is an ETA clone.

There is only one correct conclusion that can be made from those two facts. You can believe me when I tell you it is a 2824 CHS timebomb movement.

You're a legend KJ, saved me a couple hundred quid
Appreciate the explanation - I'll look for a 1675 rep or a rep with ICHS for better movement reliability

Keep up the ace work

Cheers bro. If you want a Batman and can swing another $150, the GMF V3 is a worthy piece. Most of them are coming with a VR3185 now, and with careful coordination with a good TD you can get one that way. See the last 5 pages or so.

Ahh ok I got you. Look to the balance wheel to tell if it's a VR movement. Will delve deeper down the rabbit hole, GMF V3 might be the way.
Cheers

Hi KJ2020, if you have to pick a 126710 BLNR between these 2 options, which one would it be?

1) If the photos are accurate, this has the VR3185 (but with 3186 engraving) with CHS

2) A2836 with ICHS

is the A2836 ICHS more reliable than the VR3185?

Great question bro. Those are two great choices. The VR3185 is really a solid movement and if I knew for sure my GMF V3 would have one I would go for that. It's much more gen-like in so many ways and most parts can be replaced with gen ones if they break. Look at the difference in the stem heights between a 3185 and a 2836.

But you really can't go wrong either way. The 2836 is tried and true, easy to work on if you ever decide to try a few simple repairs. Parts are cheap and readily available. Dials and hands are easy to find. ICHS never bothered me, I have several of them including a Noob V8 Batman that I see no reason to upgrade. It looks great and runs perfectly, what more does one need? I've never been one to chase after every new upgrade if a piece I have already checks those blocks. The 2836s are becoming more scarce and may not be around forever in 6 digit models. They are a safe place to start.

Was having lunch with a client who was wearing the batgirl (126710 BLNR) and I noticed how tall the crystal was... I did a search for online photos of the gen and just realised that the crystal is indeed quite tall !

Does anyone have a gen batgirl and can I trouble the owner to post a side profile photo of the watch showing the xtal height ?

I’m changing out the xtal and gasket to thinner ones on my GMF batgirl. Hopefully it will be quite close to gen xtal height
