This ones for all the OGs that remember this watch....

Has anyone ever changed the freaking crystal on one of these? They had the pressed in crystal bezel, and since the datewheel is positioned too far right I need to change the crystal. Im measuring it to be around 305MM instead of the normal 295MM on gen spec crystals.

Did anyone ever change the dial to a gen on one of these? Lots of posts about them on RWG / RG but not one mention of a gen dial ever put in, meaning changing the crystal was never needed to correct the cyclops issue.

Thanks!

This may be the same as the "default crystal" on Raffles DJ 16200 cases. Its cyclops is to the right of gen dial date window. I got one and it's 30.4mm at the lip, but 29.5mm in the inside.

No this crystal is vertically sloped on the side, it doesnt have a lip

Maybe the cyclops could be removed and re-positioned? I removed one recently with heat from a candle lighter. Not sure how feasible that would be with the crystal on the watch.

Ive already stripped it down completely to measure everything, taking off the cyclops is last resort. Startime sells 30.5mm crystals so I can try one of those also since this one has a LEC as bright as the freaking Batman sign.

Had amazing plans for this build but its looking dicey

I remember doing one many many years ago, think I had to shave the dial but could be wrong. Mine had gen style construction. Removed the explorer bezel and fitted the gen crystal with gen gasket and gmt bezel assembly. Used the old CHS movement with noob dial

Talking with the other OGs across various sites and it seems like all the Noob EXP2s had these problems, which is why the explorer was the best option. However i got it to work - with the exception that taking off the cyclops caused the cyclops to shatter and now I have shards stuck in the bottom of my foot... but it was well worth it!!
