Is BP still making the best 16600 Sea Dweller?

Much better pics in this latest batch. Agreed, now I like the 3135 cg better. Too bad you have to get that movement to get the better case! I'd rather have the 2824 movement...

I agree, but as I’m going to franken, I’ve bought a SH and and some Gen reverser wheels to replace the SA.

Then my Gen bits can go on it.

That's cool. Does that improve the quality of the movement then? How many gen bits do you need to replace in the movement? Can you do gen datewheel, gen dial, and gen hands then? I wonder what that would add to the build cost?

Yea, reversers are one of the essential things to help reliability. On top the SH3135 I have a Gen Dial, hands, date wheel, Insert and xtal to be installed. I also have a Gen tube and was looking for a Gen crown. I may not bother to do that now.

I also have a tc bracelet without a clasp. There’s quite a difference in quality with the bracelet.

stufuse nice project and nice parts you have sourced.
The result would be great. Keep us informed with your build.

BPSD with 3135 looks really very good especially the case shape / crown guards.

The BP SD is so ice to wear, I like it so much.
The perfect summer/leisure watch :)

At the moment, I like the SD model 16660 .... I am thinking to order an additional one an build a "triple 6" Sea-Dweller.... let's see (too many nearly identical watches at the moment)

I'm thinking about a 1660 too ... possibly a late COMEX one

BPs are definitely good to start for COMEX builds

Amazing box set! Where did you get that?
Thanks buddy !!!
16800 Comex, 1984 calendar, box ... as usual, everything is home made ????
Far from perfect as it was my first build, but I learned sooooo much things while doing it..
If you click on the "16800 COMEX" link in my signature you can read all the story.

Those days I'm working on a late 16660 Comex SD glossy dial like the one below ... the goal is to have it on my wrist for my summer holidays in Corsica, if I can source a "flat 4" insert (only gen part) at an affordable price.

I like that comes, boxes really nice too.

There’s a guy that sells old Rolex boxes on VRF you can pick up one for an SD for $180 shipped.

The classic case SD wears the same as my 6 digit ARF sub. The case is just much nicer to look at! didn’t realise how much I prefer the classic case shapes until exploring the 5 digit subs.

I saw a NOS SD online for 12k GBP! Never worn, still With stickers

sorry who are?
Whats a fair price to pay for a swiss t dial?

I guess the dial feet would need to be cut to fit the 2836. Rather buy a 3135 too then :)

Yes ... the DW is a little left, about 0,5mm, but I'll live with that.
I don't think it can be repositionned as the DW is a circle.
So if you move it 0,5 mm to the right it will be 1mm to the left when it has turned 180°.
The only way would be to put a dial with the date window moved 0,5mm to the left ... perhaps I'll try to mod my spare one before reprinting it.
I paid $244 shipped (watch only ... spare dial was a plus)
Hello sorry to intrude but you can actually reposition the DW. I had 2 x BP 16600 with the same problem. Had my watchsmith done. Now its all centered.

No intrude ... and yes it's doable
Did that myself some weeks ago and that's almost perfect ????

The BP clasp is terrible. Which is a better solution?
