How about 116520 white dial from ARF is it close enough to gen?
I see Gen 116520 dial white in chrono24 website the price is crazy 1000 bucks +++

What do you suggest? Saving for a gen or waiting for better dial on noob

I think the 116520 old JF dial is pretty good. Not prefect but way better than what you can find on the actual noob or arf:

I will swap the coronet on this dial with a Gen or noob one just for fun.

This dial is replicating the very early 2001 gen dial. Font and layout are pretty accurate apart from the sundials. Even the white color looks to be creamy. The printing is high quality, text having volume and shine. Overall a pretty good replica.

Tremendous thread this. It seems I've somehow stumbled together the correct gen dial with gen hands, both have been shipped with a gen crystal to create my franken noob v2 116520 BD.

I (like many) would love a bezel breakdown, even though you have already done us a huge favour for us franken hoarding readers.

Thanks a lot. Bezel variation is less obvious but there are subtle differences between time periods. I will make a proper guide maybe next weekend.

Looking forward to see your build.

OH and by the way, to make this frankening guide complete I should also add what needs to be done to the noob case in order to make it acceptable at least.

I'm not saying I'm an expert but I can spot all noob based Frankens regardless of how many Gen parts they have just by looking at the case.

Arf case is bad as well. The old JF a23j case is better but that needs a lot of work as well.

I will make some drawings to explain what I mean if you guys are interested.

Thanks for this bro. But i have trouble finding out which year i made my franken daytona from. I dont have the knowledge on which dial was made on which year. And i couldnt differentiate in between the dials and subdials.

- Gen dial: isn’t the one from random series which has the shiny subdials. They are more matte in color. The lume is SL.

- Rehaut: noob based, so its from the factory

- clasp: long clasp, noob

- gen hands: the hands are the fat ones with SL lume

- bezel: bezel is still noob, still looking for an ARF V1 bezel (if anybody wants to sell it, Please do PM me)

- gen crsytal: its got the LEC on it

Did you happen to study the center pinion thing? I heard that the center pinion should be solid (filled) while the noob daytona has empty ones. It is not close to gen, isn't it?

So which year in gen is my daytona built for? LOL.

You have a 2007-2009 dial so in order to have a preiod correct build your watch should have :

- SL fat hands
- engraved rehaut with a serial that is not random
- 3 piece bracelet end link
- it can have both the old style and the new style clasp as long as the folding part is sanded
- crystal should have LEC

cheers
