Sub parts arrived!!

Okay, I said I'd do it.. finally got the opportunity to update this long awaited thread! From the help of good friend kj2020 I can post pictures again lol

here we go... start with the sillita SW200 movement

I sanded down the original date wheel from the number prints and paint. (Hens the gold/brass color)

and the Gen date wheel glued on over top (DWO)

Now for the next move I had to fabricate a "spacer ring) so the date disk (DWO) can flip dates with out a snag

Okay, the case had some multiple mutilations done to it before but just wasn't enough... as the lugs on the ST cases are super wide (thick) resembles the super case submariner 116610. So back into the desk clamp it goes.

now that littlw file works wonders and shaves metal quickly!! So be careful and easy strokes does it

now that you have your "rough sketch" it's all in the matter of smoothing it out and finish it off with a polish and brushing!

So after I smoothed the sides of the case and brushed the top of the lugs i went ahead and tapped off all the areas I didn't want polished with simple painter's tape and hit it off with the buffing wheel.

Painters tape works great for this stuff!

and what I've come to learn, never wipe any of the polished areas before you bath it in warm water and light soap, because the polishing compound being still there will smear that mirror finish! Its good to use a tooth brush as well to get the soilds off.

Oh wow. Look at those tiny crown guards. It does take a lot of bulk off the case. Did you intend to narrow them down that much?

It looks really good. I might try to reshape them just slightly on an ARF 6 digit sub. Just a little though. Although I’m not sure if the risk:reward ratio ratio is high enough

Very true! Agree with you 100% these crown gaurds are sadly short.. that's pretty much the only draw back from the ST cases nothing you can do about it as that's how they come, very short and stubby as mentioned by many memebers here. But all in all this case is of very good quality Water tight without any issue shower, swim, perfect summer watch!

as for the ARF sub i didnt know they needed any tweaking.. them 6 digits are the best around I thought!
