New SUB VRF

Thanks to your pics on previous posts, I was able to recognise the VR3135 instead of 2836. Thank you guys to share your knowledge. I accepted my watches. Just a curiosity...Chazingtime don't give QC timegrapher pics?

Just received my vrf 116610LN 3135. Imo:
1. Date wheel is really good. Alignment look fine too.
2. Bezel click a bit loose compare to gen. Bezel numeric infill look white compare to gen platinum infill which is more greyish.
3. Hour marker at 6, 9, 12 o'clock too pointy where gen is more rounded.
4. Xtal cyclop is acceptable, I got a Prof xtal n will swap for it.
5. Crown guard shape is bad. Crown position was center as per gen 3135.
6. The biggest problem is the bracelet, it feel cheap n light, SEL is terrible. Arf bracelet is still the best even though is far from gen.

@lamkinpark the SEL is bad out of the box. I just got one and did the old 1.5mm spring bar trick, and it looks perfect. I know some report not being able to fit in other bracelets, but I could get a Noob V6s bracelet and JF 93250 bracelet in with just a bit of force. But they still need the offset bars to have recessed SEL.

This is amazing, i can see the pip is slightly off centre, but wow!

Sorry to hear about the bracelet as the weight,sturdiness of the bracelet can make or break a nice watch.

i'm lurking and learning on this forum hopefully getting ready to start shopping!

No really, depend on what you looking at. I own Arf before n both got it merit n flaws. Study the forum for both and make your own judgement..

Looks great with Prof crystal

Apparently VRF has changed their crystal supplier. The new version pretty much sucks. I'm at the QC process on a VRF TT. I've rejected two, both of which had the older better crystal. I accepted the 3rd which has the newer worse crystal. I'm going to switch to a Prof anyway and everything else is OK so whatever.

Look at how much worse the new batch of crystals is. Weak magnification and the side curves are not crisp like before. I rejected the one on the left due to pearl not centered. The insert looks better on the new batch I think. The date window cutout looks suspect on the one I accepted on the right, but I'll be changing the dial too.

occb2 Thanks for the amazing inputs and review. Since you have the old VRF Max LV (where you put in the sellita) and also this new VR3135 VRF LV, can you please tell me:

1. Is the insert color exactly the same between these two?
2. If not, assuming the old one is better, do you think that insert alone can be moved to this new VR3135 bezel?

I want to Franken my VRF 3135 116610LV. Does the movement VR3135 and bezel fit the Noob V9 SA3135 case? If yes, the case will be provided with bezel? better to order Noob V9 LN or LV case? ARF bracelet fit the Noob case?

So I am curious how closely everyone else is looking at their recent QC photos of the VRF with the VR3135 dial and maybe I am crazy but I just noticed this before sending approval:


Here is the correct dial print from the product page - pretty close to gen (not perfect but not terrible)

Now here is the QC for my VR3135 LN

Asking the TD if this is the right watch but was curious if VRF was flipping around their dial print...


EDIT: Ok now I am totally confused and have seen both versions of the dial print on what are being sold as gen watches on reputable sites....*boggle*

EDIT AGAIN...so apparently both styles can be found in gen models via TRF member confirmations. So...my mildly induced panic may hopefully help someone else avoid this down the road. I actually prefer the style that I got in QC vs the spaced out version lol...

jb3 , the first dial with spaced out letter is earlier version for sub year 2010 - 2013, and the other was year 2014 - 2015.

The vrf kills the arf
The v9 is probbly my fave then the vrf.but the vrf hulk is really nice

thanks smoke, was thinking between LN arf, vrf and v9. All with 3135 movements. have decided to go for the VRF in the end . I have the feeling the ARF gets too much hype.
