What are your thoughts on the vrf? I recall you ordered both ln and LV ...

How does it fare against the arf as I know you have handled them all.

I think VRF is better, the case is more GEN like and the insert is really perfect! What I do not like is the dial and the engravings to the lugs.

Posted this in the other VRF thread, too.

Here in the video side view we can see the missing angle of the CGs. Only ARF and Noob have got this angle.

Gen for explanation. Look at the yellow lines for illustration.

It‘s possible to reshape the CGs. I did this on my VRF Max. Look here:

BTW: For Max owners this is a good occasion to shave the inner CG area a bit more gen like to hide the incorrect eta crown position.

All in all this new VRF3135 has got a really nice case. But it‘s important to get a case with correct symmetry. Some Max cases have got a noticeable unsymmetry. You won’t notice that on the wrist but it‘s there.
And there are still mostly flush SELs. That’s the harder part to rework.

Modding VRF should include a slight rehaut polishment, too. IMOP it looks a bit better. BTW here you see modded SELs, too. Look at the rehaut (MAX edition):

These modded SELs do look good, but are they from the newer 3135 or the previous model? 3135 seems to have worse SELs to start from, including SEL gaps on the side, so I'm not sure you can get the same result. Just curious

Such a disappointment.

Received the watch and was trying to set the time and date. Then the dreadful feeling came up when I turned the crown. I have an ETA2836 Noob V7 SubC so I knew immediately that something was wrong when I tried to set the date on the "VR3135".

Opened up the caseback and sure enough, A2836 movement instead of the VR3135 that I ordered. Utterly disappointed. Got the USD358 watch instead of the USD518 watch that I ordered.

Now I'm just hoping to sort it out with the TD.

by turning the crown how can i find out what movement that is, as I have received my watch and am very much disappointed, ut have no way of opening the caseback.

it feels ridiculously bad: the winding feels just awkward, the bracelet feels cheap and too flat, the sels are horrible, the cyclops on the crystal misaligned and the date flips at 11:55pm... not even sure if that is the watch I QCd

Saylle it's very easy to check the movement.

For the 3135 movement, after you unscrew the crown and pull it out to the time set notch, to set the time you turn the crown forward away from you for the time to move forward (eg 1pm to 130pm)

For the 2836 movement, you turn the crown backwards towards you for the time to move forward.

If the movement is indeed not the 3135 that you ordered, perhaps you can check with your TD what can be done. I got a refund for mine very quickly.

Bear in mind is the Chinese festive holidays now so it's probably more polite to askYour TD maybe next week. They're not gonna be working for at least one week.

Saylle after you've checked the movement, if it's the correct one (3135) it is unlikely that the TD will refund or replace the rep for you. I'd suggest a movement service, prof black hole crystal replacement and an upgrade of the insert. Those were my original plans but now maybe I'll save up for a grimlocktime franken haha.

Look like the movement is need service.
Unscrew the crown. Pull out all the way (second click) to time setting. Check the rotation of the crown when set time forward.

Sounds like a 3135 clone movement. A2836 normally winds smooth.
That’s why I avoid Rolex clone movements.

ok it indeed is the 3135 then. thank you for the help determining that!
i guess cleaning the movement amd swapping thr crystal is the next steps then. cant do much about those crappy SELs as it seems an ARF bracelet wont fit that case either

Maybe you can contact Smpfan . He did a beautiful job modded the SELs on his VRF Hulk
