Yacht-Master - Spongebob Platinum Mod Gen Comparison

Hey guys, just following up with my earlier post for the finished platinum Yacht-Master insert mod, done by SpongeBob.

Here are some better side-by-side comparison photos with the gen Yacht-Master 116622..

The full build of my rep (right) is as follows:

- Noob base
- Gen DW
- Gen Crown
- Prof black hole crystal

Personally I think the final result of the platinum mod is fantastic. The color and texture are almost 1:1 with the genuine insert. The biggest flaws being the detailing of the Noob insert itself:
the relief of the numbers is too low, the genuine insert has higher raised numbers. Also the crispness of the notches between 12:00 and 3:00 are more refined on the gen.

Otherwise, really happy with the final look

I haven't seen TomReps mod in person, but from photos it looks really good. I'd say they're close!

I'm only showing what I have from SpongeBob, compared with gen I'd say its 99% there. The only flaws being the ones inherent with the Noob insert.. Otherwise his coating is on par with gen.

Gen has much better SEL's.. Maybe I got unlucky but theres a small gap between my watch head and the bracelet and it has a little bit of give. Doesn't bother me though, its just a flaw I have accepted. Otherwise in appearance theres no major difference.

Looks similar tho numbers with spongebob’s bezels are crisp and nicely polished but would not be able to conclude as long as we do a side by side comparison.
