Can you describe the sound? Is it the rotor spinning? Or some gears that click?

Thanks

Its a rotor spinning noise. Not used to hearing them on any Rolex whether gen or rep. Haven't gotten to handle a gen 116500 either so not sure how it compares.

Received mine yesterday and am very impressed overall. A couple of observations and I am wondering if other owners are experiencing the same:

1) Rotor is a little bit noisy when you hold it up to your ear and shake, much more so than my other Rolex reps
2) Hand winding it feels nice at first, but once the power reserve is full it feels really rough, almost like something is grinding or a gear is not catching.

Seems that your movement needs some oil. Could be bone dry from the factory. Service the watch asap. And don't over-wind manually, it's not a 6497 workhorse and its automatic chronograph above all.

ARF v2 904 116520 black dial is 141grams, Noob 116520 316 is 138 gram....one link removed on both watches. Concider the different movement and consider bezel size, noob bezel is 2.7 mm and ARF 2.5 but the shape is not gen.

My gen is 143g. Just to compare

It looks very nice! Thanks for sharing your photos.

Does it have a same thickness total even after changing the case back from the closed to the open one?

Where did you get that specific open case? How much was it?

Thank you.

I have the same noise on my 2 new Noobs bought last month. 316L's. How much power reserve do you get?

Ah got it, thanks. I've been reading that the Gen Daytonas are a bit noisier than the Submariner/GMT so maybe its not that far off.

As for power reserve I've been wearing it a lot so haven't had a chance to measure. I'm thinking that the 60-70+ hrs people are stating is accurate though just based on how quickly it winds to full after sitting unworn overnight. Overall very impressed with this thing.

Yeah on mine I may have to give it a full wind and not wear it at all to see if it's giving the 60-70 hours just to see if there is a problem with the rotor.

I don't think you'll have an issue. Last week I did try winding to full and letting it sit overnight, then wearing it for a few hours in the morning and when I went to wind it again I could feel that the PR was already filled so the rotor is definitely doing its job.

Thank you

I got the caseback from here - http://www.customwatchconcepts.com/product_info.php?products_id=22

There are others available. The watch now measures 12.9mm

The caseback was not properly tightened in this photo

You'll get noise on pretty much all Daytonas as they use ball bearing rotors. The difference is a gen Rolex uses ceramic balls so they'r smoother and respond better to a bit of oil. A decent upgrade for what rotors are going for. I put one on mine and it did help.

Thank you so much for that. Now that I know its normal I won't worry but on the panda noob I have the power reserve is low.

Nice one Jxwatch1 , is it the 904L?

Yes its the 904l mate. When it arrived the bracelet was still a bit “hard”. I need to do some bath in baby oil.

Now i understand someone asking about the easy link that he thought he didnt have. Mine was hard AF to detach.

Will try to use it more. Should be more loose and free when used. Otherwise. The bracelet feels ok. I think the 904l marketing just solved the SELs imho.

Jxwatch1 I think it will be extremely pricy for a gen dial for the 116000 that's if you can even find one. I'd get the ARF dial and stick that in there if i were you.

Interested to see how this feels in comparison to the ARF which is very close to gen feel.

My ARF dial and bezel is actually on the way and will ask a modder to shave it and fit. Already asked guru about tips as well. might be risky to shave if another modder i have yet to decide. Will see.

If the gen hunt dial is a fail then the ARF dial and Bezel will go to this and will share once done

To be honest bro i like more the feel of my arf 904l bracelet out of the box. Maybe its just me that feels this noob 904l bracelet is a bit hard and needs oiling. Maybe after oiling it would be great.

The good point are

SEL is good with their 904l -i really think its marketinf.

The clasp is airtight as per my gen. On the sides and click is good.

The space between the rolex logo and the bar where you slip your finger to unlock feels a bit tight.

Visually its all amazing. Brushed and polished looks same as my gen 116520 daytona and gmt

Hope this helps.
