Since there are already many threads regarding this topic, i will just post a brief comparison according to my observation.

Rep has no cyclops. The gen one has cyclop.

DIAL

The rep has more glossy finish on the dial.
The indices color is whiter compared to gen.
Printing is very good on the rep one; if you are very picky then the red color is slightly different, with the gen has slightly red wine color to it compared to plain red on the rep. But, it is very indistinguishable under normal observation.

As can be seen here, the gen dial has slight satin finish to it.

The hev valve is slightly different on the gen. It looks slightly smaller compared to rep; color also slightly.
The case shape is almost the same; except on the gen, i feel the end of the case on the gen is more pointy and curvy like an eagle beak.

Bezel teeth is bigger on the rep.
The gen has more slim oval look to it.

Clasp on the gen looks double engraved.

Overall, for the rep, it is a great watch for the money. It has a wrist presence and a substantial weight. A great watch to have.

Bro, those are 2 different watches. The Rep is the 40mm 2014 variant and the Gen is the newer 43mm variant from 2017. The rep looks very good compared its gen equivalent. I’ve been looking for this one (rep). Where did you source it from?

Dude, he took the cyclops off. Otherwise this is an SD43 V2 same size as the gen, which you can tell just by looking at them side by side.

Got to admire his photography skills where he can make them both look the same size

One on the right looks bigger to me. Guess my eyes need to be checked. Didn’t see where he said he removed the cyclops.

Cyclops aside, it has Red Sea-dweller dial making it 2017 43mm, not 2014 40mm.

Nice review and can‘t wait for my arf to arrive. Got this gen rlx crystal but not sure if it is the correct size. Does anyone know the actual crystal measurement? I have no caliper but mine roughly measures this:

I'd say it plays in the same league, but uncertain if there are going to be differences in mm area?!

Hi bro I wanted a gen for this one too my understanding is only the SD43 Crystal is totally separate from the others and near impossible to find. Two RG members got them for $650 each. As you probably know $350 for subs etc so I went for a prof black hole crystal from his next batch. Once it’s been built i’ll post pics! :)

I think it looks great without the cyclops. Was it difficult to remove? I've seen videos that make it look fairly simple - applying heat and gently levering the cyclops away with a razor blade..

It is the dial finishing that gives it away. The dial of the gen is slightly matte:
