JF Submariner 16610LV Strap Question

Hello all,

Some absolute POS tried to snatch my Sub off my wrist on Wednesday night. He failed to steal my watch but succeeded in breaking the link closest to 12 o'clock.

I had assumed there would be a "bar" inside but it looks more like two pins either side.

Is this something a common jeweller could repair? Or is it a specialist kind of fix?

Apologies if this is a noobish question, I just never seen anything like that before.

Thanks for any help

Dave

Post pics of the issue. But I'm sure it can be fixed.

Here's some snaps from my phone. If needed I can take better quality with my Canon. But I guess you can see what I'm talking about here :D :D :D

Thanks

A common issue on these JFs. I’ve had 2 snap with normal wear. You need to split the link, replace the spring bar with a solid bar from a spare strap, refit the SEL and press the link back together. A piece of piss if you have the link splitting tool. Can be done with a vice and smooth jaw mole grips though if your very careful. Put one side of the link in a vice, protected with a cloth, and grip the other side with the smooth jaw grips, wiggle side to side and up and down very slightly whilst pulling. When the link is split, remove the spring bar, fit the solid bar, slip the SEL onto the bar, bit of locktight onto the ends of the 3 bars you can now see, refit the part link you removed and press back together . Hope this makes sense. You may be left with tooling marks on the bracelet which you’ll have to remove and rebrush.

See the post above mine for the solution of your problem.

Sadly, I can't see your pics. Consider moving to PICR (RWI's own picture hosting service) instead of imgur. Imgur doesn't work well with RWI anymore.

I wouldn't even know where to begin :D

Is this something zocker4711 could do for me as I have used him for repairs in the past?
