Nearer than you think
You have to be more specific. V1 versus V2 of what model? 116500 or 116520? Cuz there is no "official V2 " for the 116520, only that of the 116500. And by "ffficial," I am referring to those posted in either Puretime or Intime or Chazingtime sites. I should have used "posted" instaed of "official."

However, in context, there is a "V2" for the 116520. guru posted a picture of it. Or read page 1 of this thread for Guru's comments. This "v2" in context refers to the improvement of the first Noob run, dial-wise: printing clearer esp in the sub dials, spacing, and colors are correct, etc. Not an expert, but that's what I gathered from the several threads. Maybe guru can chime in.

Here's mine:

thank you and beautiful piece!

Nearer than you think
I have been in contact with puretime a few weeks back when I placed my order and asked for availability of all noob Daytonas with sa4130 in general. They told me they are all "in stock" - which could either mean they have a couple flying around the office and you will get QC the next day or that they can get them from the factory and you might have to wait some time.
I've now been waiting 2 weeks for my 116500 and I'm hearing similar things from other people. I'm absolutely not familiar with the 116520 you are after...
and about the 116500: I don't really care about the improvements, an ARF dial and bezel is going on it straight away once it reaches me.
subdials are still too fat on the noob, which hasn't been fixed and is the easiest tell on the ceramic...

i see, thank you for your answer

Here are the instructions for the crystal mod on the noob daytonas.

The watch is 12.8 mm thick, gen spec needs to be 12.4.
So you need to reduce the thichness by .4 mm.
Rep bezel is 2.75 mm compare to gen bezel of 2.5 mm.
So you need to shave the bezel down to 2.5 mm.Now the
crystal, sits even higher, so you need to shave the gasket down from 2.5 mm to 2.1 mm. That will lower the crystal so that the facete is even with the bezel. The watch now has 12.4 mm.
When you do this, the hands needs to be pressed down. Don‘t know why noob didn‘t press them down from the beginning. When they are pressed down, they look even more gen. It is an incredible mod, rehaut looks smaller and handstack look much better.

I have not done this on the ceramic because of tooling issues.
These ceramic bezel are easy to break without the right tool to remove and press the bezel.

I am reposting some of the pics again

Noob was 2.7mm on mine as the bezel is very thick. Gen crystal comes with 2.3mm.

Hey bots, do you have to take the bezel off to replace the crystal on these?

Yes bud but it’s easy. The whole bezel clamps the crystal and gasket on a Daytona.

V2 ARF 116500 is supposedly:

- a new case (I think a bit more rounded on the bottom outer edge the lugs, not sure if that's correct or what else there might be),
- a new clasp (doesn't show in your pics)
- better hand height I think (can't tell from the pics).

The bezel on the new ARF models seems refined, but i don't hear it listed as a part of any official upgrade. I think it's likely just improved manufacturing, but that's a guess.

There's no difference in the dial at all, though some pics show a bit thicker horizontal lines on the ROLEX. I'm not sure if that's a change or just variation - it's subtle. And you REALLY have to zoom in for that.

So, having said all that, it's impossible to tell...

Which TD did you get it from?

I want to purchase an ARF V2 black dial, is the dial on the steel or ceramic bezel better? Or same dial?

Great news that there are two options for the Daytona...changed days...I have opted for the noob on the basis of the 4130 movement. I'm a little worried about the SEL on the QC photo - anyone have any opinions please ?

Dear members,

some days ago (or better said nearly two weeks ago ;) ) my Noob Daytona 116500 White Dial with 4130 fully working chrono movement arrived.
I did some comparioson pictures with my ARF Daytona 116520 White Dial below. (please note - 116520 White Dial / Stainless Steel bezel = ARF || 116500 White Dial / Ceramic bezel = Noob)

To be very honest, both watches are very nice and well made.
Each of them has their own pros and cons. Neither the ARF nor the Noob are perfect at all.

I will also mod both watches because than is each of them nearly "perfect" for my use.
ARF modding plans: center the dial | shorten /shape the pushers | install a slimmed caseback (already removed the deco plate / rotor ETA installed and silenced)
Noob modding plans: dial change to an ARF | bezel change to an ARF | rebrush the bracelet | modify the clasp ot change the clasp

>> Here are my personall PRO's and CON's for each of them:

ARF
+ dial and texture / printing and font typing
+ look and feel of the complete watch
+ crystal is very good
+ rehaut thickness
+ crown (winding crown)
+ bracelet
+ clasp
+ 904 stainless steel
+ SEL fitment

- non working chrono = only stop-second function
- 7750 movement
- caseback (too thick = cause of deco plate & rotor inside)
- pushers too long
- incorrect position of pushers

NOOB
++ movement clone of 4130 and with all of its functions = +++
+ look and feel of complete watch (but not the bracelet!)
+ crystal (but not the gasket!)
+ hand stack and hands
+ windings crown
+ pushers = very accurate
+ SEL fitment

- dial and texture and font typing (also sub dials too fat)
- bezel could be much better for 116500
- bracelet: the polished center links are very "sharp" in the area to the brushed links // not very good
- clasp and looks and feel of the clasp compares to the ARF

I compared both watches also with a Gen Daytona (116520 white dial = old model without rehaut engraving) from a friend of mine. He did not want that I take pictures compared with these two watches and I put pictures of his watch to the www. I respect his argument and point of view.
I have to say again that both watches are very nice. I think 99% of the people out there cannot say if it is a ARF / Noob / Gen or know any difference.
My friend was also very fascinated to both watches. He liked both and he liked them much more as I told him the prices for each ;)

Please note again, I like both of them for their own pros and cons. Both will be modified for my personal satisfaction :)

And here are now some pictures for comparison
116520 = ARF // 116500 = Noob
