I about to buy that deepsea, no papers and no bracelet. It should be genuine but like to get your opinion. Also what year it should be if can tell by the dial? Thanks

Hi guys. I am about 95% that this is Gen. I know the previous owner but he is not the original owner so no papers. Why do you think it is not gen? I can get it for about 7000$

For one, a gen wouldnt have a date font thats not centered? Why would you even gamble 7k? Just take it to an AD to do an PPI

Bono 95% isn't high enough to gamble $7K on. If you know the guy, have him open the caseback and see what the movement is. Also, the date is left justified. I think that is a rep tell, just my take. Also, the insert looks pretty bad. To me it looks like a nice Noob insert that had a PPP mod done. To me the smudging around the numbers on the insert are a tell of someone painting the numbers with PPP mod then cleaning the ceramic once done. I could be wrong, it could be gen, but that is why I would verify the movement and serial number with an AD.

I highly doubt it if it’s a Gen. Few reasons worth highlighting, the numerals on the bezel seem to be too rounded and white tinted. And then, the He Valve on the side is completely polished whilst on the gen it’s actually brushed for the ring part of the He Valve and polished for the surroundings. While I could be wrong about my observation, still if I were you, I’ll stay away from it. Unless the seller is willing to authenticate the watch at Rolex AD or Service Center. Even if that is gen, which I doubt, Wouldn't pay more tan $100 for it. Looks like someone took the poor thing and dragged it through a meat grinder.

Not gen, date is not centered. Which is like a scream of not being correct and no the position the photo was taken.
Second; Insert numbers look kinda too dark.

Wouldnt risk it save up few bucks more get the SD in a better shape and with box and papers. Will be also better for reselling it if you want to get another model.
Think about the after purchase process!

You get what you pay for. Pay 7 grand and get a watch without paper box and braclet not a good deal imo. And then try to resell it, you will make a big loss. Better get a one in a better shape maybe safe up for few month more and do the job the right way

Dial is Gen insert look Gen too but pretty much beaten up.

But investing 7k its ridiclious buy the rep for this simple design

Not alligned Date is a common Rolex issue like i said in 10000000 threads the QC from Rolex is the worst ive ever seen these days.

Dial has nicely rounded indices etc

It needs to be cleaned up and clearer photos need to be taken. There's a ton of muck in the bezel engravings.

fyi, centered date fonts IS NOT a definitive hallmark of gen. spend some time on trf and see the truth. my gen Hulk has some minor left justification on some dates and it is a genuine Rolex.

the piece in question here looks very rough and the roughness here may be disguising a gen. the strap looks like it was melted. movement verification is necessary here.
