Hi guys, I have in mind to have a 16710 in the near future so I need some info. First of all: any case o base watch that are valid? If yes, some link please :)
I read of Cartel for the 1675 but no read anything for the 16710.
A gen spec case is a must because I would like to put inside a mod yuki into 3185.
The hands are the same of the submariner? I'm asking because I have a set of hands for the 16610 superluminova and maybe I can use them in the GMT, just need the big hour hand to add.

Thanks in advance.

Nooo! Really hands are different :(
looks so similar, what’s change?

I’ve read about the Noob Explorer II case that is no more available and rare, but is so valid?

I think you should try mimicking how this member on repgeek built his 16570 using a yuki 3185
https://www.repgeek.com/rep-watch-tr...-movement.html

you will need (what appears to be) a noob 16570 case (16710 / 16570 share the same case in gen world) and move the tube position higher for the yuki 3185 to work

for 16710 builds, the noob 16570 is is preferred over a stock noob 16710 because the noob 16710 has an annoyingly weird non gen-spec crystal retainer/bezel design. But noob 16570 is very rare

I have been in your position and I ended up buying 2x gen 16570 instead because the total cost of building a 16710 was very close to a gen 16570 (back then; now prices have climbed). I was going to convert my gen polar 16570 into a 16710 but that polar dial is growing onto me and I decided not to.

If you want a 16710, i rather you buy a gen 16570 (without bracelet) and convert it into a 16710 to save a lot of time and headaches with modding/parts sourcing (simple: change dial, add aftermarket 16610 bezel assembly with appropriate click spring, add gen bezel insert... and done. If you got the gen polar with black hands, then you will need to find silver hands as well)

Hi mate! Thanks, this is really a good suggestion!
How much is for an 16570? There is the plus to have a real rolex gmt movement inside...

You can search on ebay / chrono24 to see the latest approximate price... $4200 for head-only on ebay. The 78790 bracelet is worth around $800-$1200 USD I believe (depending on condition)

A Yuki 3185 cost $900 usd approximately, then you will have to find a noob case and redrill the tube height. Also, Phong doesn't make 16710 / 16570 cases

or... you can just buy that repgeek yuki 3185 explorer and convert it into a 16710. But doing so would lead to a total cost that is more than 50% of the cost of a gen 16570 (head-only)

The actually available Noob Explorer II with A3187 is not good for mod to a 16710?

It's funny, there's a not a whole lot of us out here trying to do a super-franken build of a 16710, but there sure is enough of us!! I'm in the same boat, looking for a case that would take the 3185. The only promising thing is that there are rumors of correction for the reliability of that CHS movement that is out now, so who knows....
