Soooooooooo....I decided to sell my franken TV v7x and decided rather than split up and part my V6S, would just franken it all up.

This is part 1 - I've wasted over £1100 on it to date but it's ok...heh, will hopefully claw a little bit back when I gut and sell parts it currently has like serviced ETA 2824 w/ H4 Pinion, TC LV Hands etc.

Currently in possession:

* The watch - V6S SA3135 case w/ Gen 704 Crown
* SH3135 - new and unserviced
* Gen Datewheel (in blister)
* Gen Hands (new)
* 600 Date Indicator Seating w/ screws (new, unsealed)
* 614 Date Jumper (NOS, repackaged)
* 623 Date Finger (in blister)
* 140 Automatic Upper Bridge (new, unsealed)

On its way:

* CAR-C1 Crystal
* V6S Bezel with Gen Insert
* 116610LN Dial
* 7030 Tube
* 540 Reversing Wheels x2
* 625 Date Wheel
* 421 Pallet Fork

Total Cost Spent So Far? Don't ask, thanks. Image so far below, am absolutely excited once all parts are in to send to Adrian to get it all serviced and installed :)

Great job brother. Sounds like a great adventure. A watch to enjoy for years. I see a tube there. The Noob doesn't take a real tube. Your watch maker will have to drill and tap the case and counter sink to get it in there. The noob one is fine and fits the real 704 thread lovely. No need for this upgrade.

Thanks R, without you most of the backend to this wouldn't have come alive :)

It's got me all excited for franken projects, accumulating parts, learning what's what with movements etc become a great hobby for me and with people like yourself and smoke helping me loads, can't complain :) just hope I never have to sell this on these forums...like ever!

Subscribed to see the results, but it seems like you already nailed it from both - technical and visual point of view ;)

These ^^^ gen parts for movement, are you Ok to share the prices? or a roughly total cost for them all ?

Share pics when you are done. Cant wait.

Mine is a V6S case and the rest is real rolex. I had a bid of an issue locating a clasp for the 97200 but I paid premium for it. More than I think the guy paid for the two 97200 halfs. What ever. I want a real crystal ring. I have to reach out too Dave.

Just opened your post and was looking at the post and wife walked past and with out even breaking stride she was like NOPE don't even think about it....LOL. looks great.

LOL! Tell her you're helping me haha

smoke Herc timto1388 thanks :)

occb2 wow bud! How much did it go for if you don't mind me asking? I've had my eye on 1-2 complete bracelets on chrono24 for between £1400-1600 depending on condition. When you say crystal ring, is that the crystal gasket or is that the retaining ring?

The clasp was $1100 dollars. I couldn't find one cheaper. My rolex guy could had got a full bracelet for $1700 I needed a clasp. I was bidding on that busted clasp on ebay but someone went nuts and it went for over $1100 dollars for a broke clasp. Crazy. So I broke down and just hand to buy a clasp for the price they asked. I saw two on ebay in Europe for $1400 so I guess mine was ok.

Thanks Rob, that's not bad to be honest. Aren't parts etc only going to get more expensive I think I read that parts will now only be on exchange basis, would this include things like bracelets etc?

according to one of my suppliers, bracelets wont be on an exchange basis, but he said he will most likely need a serial number for the watch it is going on. Stock up on everything now. Its going to become like Omega very soon

Thanks fella for the heads up! I'm thinking for the near future after this project to either start a bluesy franken or follow I think in your footsteps with a GMT build I think you sold few months ago? (Correct me if I'm wrong) the Pepsi GMT I saw at Baselworld this year really made my jaw drop and spike my interest in the GMTs where as previously I neither liked them nor even the Pepsi dial tone insert. Related to your end point, I guess that's why I hardly see any Onega franken builds? Would this be the same case with the Tudors too?

I did sell a GMT franken awhile back. have since done another with the sh3185 hybrid movement that solves all the reliability issues of the CHS movement. I think i have a build thread of that one on here somewhere.

Yep, Omega franken builds are rare imo because of the parts and their price points. Since the parts are hard to come by, they are pricier, and in most cases, almost cheaper to just buy the gen. Not sure about Tudors, as Ive never really looked into frankening them.
