Yes, that´s what I meant... By machine (and hand) or solely by hand without the use or any machine. I´ve seen a few members re-brushing their watches by hand and getting great results (using various grit papers, etc) so I wondered if yours was done that way or with a brushing machine (I think they are called lapping machines?). I really wonder, is it possible to "brush as gen" without the use of the brushing machine and to get the same effect by hand alone.

Thanks for confirming, looks stunning - great build :)

Thanks buddy! I'm really looking forward to it.

I am not the right person to answer that. I have never brushed a bracelet.
With that said, I highly doubt that the same quality finish would be accomplished working by hand. My modder says that he uses gen spec brushes so I guess that the result is pretty similar to gen.

She is being sent home today. Really excited.

Look at that date position. I told Nik that I have OCD with alignment so he modded the date plate to make it perfect. When I'm having a bad day I'm just going to look at the date and feel much better.

She’s a OTB keeper!

I haven't seen it live yet but it looks really good on the pics. They even managed to get the OGEV text correct. Only thing I noticed is that the date seems a bit on the thin side.

When I have the time I'm going to do a comparison between rep and franken 116660 and noob 126660.

I don't know if the black dial is available but when it was released it was pretty bad. They never came out with the blue dial. Like you say its strange since V3 is very good and it's not that much difference between 116660 and 126660.

Is it PT who has a good connection with ARF?
We should ask what's going on.

Is the face on the DSSD smaller than on the SD43 to allow for the inner ring? I tried measuring in photoshop with an SD43 image side by side with a DSSD but the angle is making it hard to determine. I thought the bezel was interchangeable with the SD43/DSSD, but maybe it isn´t?

The case difference is one millimeter and the bezel is pretty much the same so the dial is smaller on the DSSD.

In my opinion the DSSD doesn't wear bigger than the SD43 besides hight wise. In hight the DSSD is a monster.

I realised I was just grabbing numbers out of thin air so went out in the garage and picked up my calipers.

I have an ARF SD43 and a Noob 126660 at the moment and the dials are both 28mm wide and the bezel insert seems to be identical in size also.

But what is really interesting is that both have the same 43mm case size. I measured the outside of the bezel teeth.

That was more or less what I was coming out with when doing measurements on the side by side image, the bezels looked identical in size. This did not make sense to me because of the inner ring on the DSSD which must be 2 or 3mm..... this got me thinking, how does the inner ring ring fit in there if both the face and bezel are the same size as the SD43?....

I read somewhere else (I think it was a gen comparison though) that the case size was almost the same (if not actually the same), so it´s interesting that you confirm that.

Thanks for taking measurements...!

I know you put a gen bezel assembly onto your 116660, do we believe the 126660 is compatible with gen parts in a similar way (if they were obtainable, which is obviously rare as rare)?

Cheers

The insert from the 126660 is the same than the 126600 SD43.
I think Rolex used a lot of parts from existing watches. So not much costs for a new watch lol

Parts from gen should fit like on the 116660.

Crystal is different to the old 116660. With the 126660 its more flat, the 116660 is more arched.

The Case construction is also the same on both watches.

So with the thought that the insert is exactly the same, the bezel ring must be quite different then, between 126600 and 126660? It’s certainly looks taller/thicker on the DSSD from what I’ve seen in photos.

Interesting that the glass is less domed on the 126660. Thanks for confirming that.
