The QC photos (attached) I received from a top TD for a V9F VR3235 JC order were horrible and I rejected it. On the lettering of OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE on the dial, the “E”s look really bad, as do the letters P, S and A in DEEPSEA on the back. Very surprising. Gonna switch to a BPF with VR3135, as recommended by SS72.

Interesting that this does have the correct OGEV RLS font. However, the pic on Trusty's site shows different.

I’m switching to a BPF 126660 with VR3135 movement as recommended by SS72. Hope that movement will be as or more reliable than the VR3235. I’m not worried about the 316F vs 904L steel.

SS72 - any thoughts on the two movements?

I'm assuming you've seen this comprehensive guide to clone movements topic by @dogwood (and @KJ2020), but here's some info compiled from that resource.

Both are decent, reliable movements, but with differences -- aside from whether you opt for an 11X or 12X ref. Both have an approximate 45 hr power reserve.

VR3135 is a clone movement and compatible with 99% genuine parts. This movement does not have a shock setting for the escape wheel. New movements are around $80USD.

VR3235 is a hybrid, not technically a clone but looks like one on the surface. It does have a real shock setting under the fake paraflex one. Parts are not easily obtained, but a new movement is around $100USD.

I've had both movements in various reps. One VR3135 had an issue with the rotor coming off its axle and vibrated when moving rapidly. Easily fixed. Otherwise, they've served me well. Touch wood, all my VR3235 movements have been rock solid.

A different movement, but the VS3135 is the one I've had more problems with. Three of my reps with this movement have had issues, but all were fixable (new parts needed for one of them).

Awesome, thanks so much.

After rejecting a V9F 126660 JC with VR3235 movement (said by two TDs to be the best 126660 JC available) because of problems with the "OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE" lettering on the dial (photo 1 - the Es were noticeably larger / taller than the other letters), I ordered the recommended BPF 126660 JC with VR3135 movement. That too was rejected because of lettering mistakes on the back of the case (photo 2 - the P, S and A in DEEPSEA were substantially larger than the other letters), I've ordered a GMF 126660 JC with VR3135 movement. Unfortunately, the TD website photos of these watches are different than the QC photos I've received, so it has become a guessing game until QC photos are received. Ugh.

For some reason, photos are not uploading. Apologies.
Never mind - figured it out.

Fourth time the charm with my 126660 JC order. This GMF VR3135, after flawed V9F and BPF models, looks superb. Andrew at Trusty Time has been incredibly professional and patient. My hat is off to him on this one.

Yes - it's just the lighting.
Thanks. Looking forward to receiving it. Not sure I'm ready for how big it is at 44mm diameter, but we'll see...
