Wanted to share my build with everyone. By all means am I a pro just a hobbyist. Many may say I have gone over board as far as what I have put in to this project, but in my thoughts anyone can go into a Rolex dealer an buy a piece. I can afford to go in an AD and pay cash for one, but I will not have near as much satisfaction as I do with this piece. The time and effort put into it will give me much more pleasure wearing it.

I love this forum. With the help of members here I have been able to build the awesome watch. Special thanks to Occb2. Many parts for this build came from him.


Break down:

V6s case and bracelet
Gen bezel and insert
Gen dial
Gen hands
Gen crystal
Gen crown
Gen 3135 with parachrom hairspring

Was able to pic up a few bracelets for the build.

Top: V6s gene va
Middle: V6s Geneva
Bottom: V7

Of the 3 I would say the spaced gene va is the best. The clasp has a more substantial bite when it closes, feels more secure. The machining of the clasp looks better as well.

Also did a re brush and polish on both V6s. Nothing major just a light one to knock off desk dive marks. As well as a ultrasonic clean.

Up next is the gen bezel comparison. Note the both have gen inserts. As far as quality the rep is great. I would say it's not worth the extra money for a gen bezel, but I'm nuts and want the best of everything lol. Plus I got it for a good deal so I picked it up.

The finish is a bit better on the gen. Nicer polish and machining.

The gen metal retaining ring (hyrtle ring) is thinner than the rep by about .4mm. Talking to pro mods advised the rep would have to be reshaped or you would have a gap between the case and bezel.

Finally together.

Gen bezel went in smooth. Nice and tight. The click on the bezel is slightly different than the rep. Has a louder click to it. Rep is just as good I would say though.

Unbelievably awesome! Makes me so jealous. Is it me, or are the flat "points" on the gen bezel a tiny bit sharper than the rep? The rep points flat tips seem ever so slightly wider. Of course you used the gen in your build and nobody would notice this that I point out, but just asking for my own edification- testing my growing skills at recognizing the gen/rep differences.

Amazing super franken, cost build about 5-6k $

The build was about $4200. Considering it has a gen movement I think it's reasonable. Movement alone was 2k. I could drop a rep 3135 in it and be well within reason.
