14060M (2011) or new 114060 (new) GEN

Hi guys,

I'm not a big poster here, kind of a reading guy ;-) Came here through the Dutch forum.
Due to my Rep interest I'm at the point to buy a GEN.

So my (maybe stupid) question is: if you were in my position, what should you do;
1) buy a beautiful 14060M (box, papers included, dutch watch) from 2011 for around € 5.600
2) buy a grey market 114060 (box, papers included, new) for around € 6.500

If I check Chrono 24 all the 14060M's with the specs above are + €6.000. List price in 2011 was €4.900 I guess?
So I'm guessing this watch can be a popular watch and also maybe gain some profit (extra long term)?
Don't know if I'm a fan of the more square 114060. The ceramic bezel and Glidelock seems like an andvantage.

The meaning is to buy the watch now and to keep it untill my son (3years) reaches the age where he can see the beauty of a Rolex Sub.

I'm very curious to all of your opions...
Stupid question maybe but for me it's a lot of money so I would buy the best. Yes I kow, the best is what I prefer but I'm sure there are some experts here to help me find out ;-)

You are better off with a 6 digit gmt at that price point. Will be a better resale value if you choose to sell in the future. Honestly if you decide to go for thst you find better prices on ebay. Never buy new it is not worth it

No i dont think the 14060 is more classy.and no i dont think resale is better on the old model either
But im ot a nd fan anyway but if i had to pick one i would take the sub c all day.feels better and imo looks better.

Lastly is it the 14060m or the normal version .i prefer the m to the older version.but i would still take the sub c over them if it was me

Irs a nice watch no doubt. But sub c wins for me.personal preference. Both hold value well.but i wouldnt buy thinking about resale.

Sub-C all day
It's more modern

Butttt the 5 digit because of the lugs works better as an all event watch.
Even works with a suit I think.

If the intention is to pass it down to your son, go for the sub C. Reality is every Sub model has a 15+ year production period, and because they are great watches that don't change form for such a long time, eventually every model of the Sub becomes a classic.

Don't buy your watch on speculation for market increase, look at the price of 5513 vs. 14060, you NEVER will know what happens with these mass produced classics. Plus the definitive value this watch provides is the joy it brings to you for the next 15 years (until your son is 18).

Tricky, 14060m, on looks alone, way better looking case, drilled lugs, I'd prefer the 2 line dial, that's me though...
114060 , I prefer the bracelet, that's about it

Have an appointment next tuesday to try a new 114060 with an AD and an appointment with the dealer who sels the 14060M. It's going to be a difficult decission [emoji854]

Go with the 114060. I was never a fan of the newer versions and now love them. Wears a little bigger and the adjustable clasp is sweet.

114060, the jump in quality is amazing. Although I love the older models, the sub-c is the better watch. Also with your future plan in mind.

This morning I went to my dealer. He had the 14060M (2011, full set) and a new 114060 (in the seals). Lucky me! Had the opportunity to fit them both! The newer 114060 was way mory heavy and less comfortable. I know, ceramic bezel, glidelock, solid endlinks. Nevertheless I immediately felt in love with the older 14060M. Much more comfort, more discrete and in my opinon more stylish. But thats just me ;-).
