New arrival today. First GMT so am a novice to this model.

The bezel insert is crisp with a nice deep platinum fill. Bezel is centered at 12 o’clock & turns nicely with no backplay. Insert looks very similar to CF but I dare to say has a nicer red color & 18 transition point.

Winding is smooth, movement (VR3186) is quiet, & it was easy to set the GMT, time, and date. Date clicks over at 11:56p.

6 transition looks good. 18 transition probably isn’t as high as it needs to be. No speed bumps to note.

SELs are a tad flush but midlinks are nice and sharp.

Could likely do with a crystal swap.

Date wheel font looks ok & is nicely centered.

Rehaut engraving is pretty light but centered relatively nicely.

Lug is engraved incorrectly with 116710 model.

Hands are a bit flat but have a nice shine. Minute hand is correct length for 126710 model.

EasyLink sucks compared to Glidelock.

Looks like a nice piece bro, thanks for the post.

Glad to see some real competition for the CF. That bezel assembly has so many things wrong with it. Once you clean off the half tube of grease it won't rotate at all. I've had to shave down all of the supporting pieces

- the bezel tension ring (washer) inside diameter is too small, it wont fit flat around the retaining ring
- the 3 pin click ring is rough, especially where the oval pin bases meet the retaining ring scallops and on the bottom where it slides across the washer
- the retaining ring teeth are rough, I shaved them down a tad then polished them smoorh.

So you either leave the grease bed or finish the parts properly.

Every GMF GMT Ive had has good bezel action without a bit of grease. Here's hoping that trend continues with the V5. I'm looking at picking one up, maybe the 126711 CHNR. Enjoy yours!

Thank you for the kind words & insight!

She’s a winner for sure even with her faults. I honestly did not expect to be this impressed!

Have you had the back off to verify the VR3186? There was a member whose "V5" had the GMF SA3285.

This looks very nice. I might have to change order. If possible can you post some sunlight pics?

ForecastMax Thanks for the pics. It's nice to see that GMF has updated its Pepsi bezel to the one with the correct lip!

Beautiful watch, the thing that stands out right away is the crystal looks the same it has the same issue as the RF submariners, where you it looks as you can see inside of where the insert and crystal meet.

You can see the whites of the markers through the spacing in between the crystal and the bezel

Same CF insert...

I thought so too but after comparing under various lighting conditions I don’t believe it is.

On the “6” there is a much softer transition & the red portion doesn’t have any hint of orange like the CF does.

Is ROF still the best insert? Or this one?

Thank you for posting this. I am not surprised that the bezel action is good. My GMF BLNR from 2 years ago which I wear a lot has impeccable bezel action! (I actually use it to monitor a 3rd timezone)
It looks like we have a winner here in the BLRO competition!
