Am I reading this right - The movement for GMF is advertised as a VR3186 but is actually a GMF SA3285? A shit time bomb? Why is it being sold as a 3186?

I agree, I like mine fine and still wear it in spite of the scuffing on the clasp. I was thinking of getting one with the VR movement, correct datewindow position etc and having one plated by Nikz to prevent the scufffing of the clasp that you know of. I saw a couple of CHNRs that Nikz did on m2m over the past year. but the uncurved 1 bothers me a bit though so that JVS piqued my interestNo, you are right bro. The GMF 1 serif is wrong on two counts, just like their Batman insert. It's straight instead of curved and its tip is angled instead of parallel to the main part of the numeral.
BP/GMF has been the best CHNR and the insert is very nice otherwise so I think people are just giving it a pass.

You could have posted that pic anywhere (most beneficial to others in a thread like this one) with a question about the movement. Also any other pics that show specific concerns you have.

KJ2020 I think I know what’s going on here - There is both the GMF V3 which has the A3285 and a GMF V5 which has VR3186 being sold by Trusty.
The QC pic of movement which was posted was a A3285 but he actually said that what he ordered - so a previous version with the movement as advertised. A picture of the new 3186 is up on trusty’s site as seen here. So as far as we know, if somebody can confirm that would be great, the new V5s should be the VR3186s
Just ordered an extra wrapped RG Root Beer from Geektime Eric from GMF and it is the 3235 movement from the QC pics.
Hope the extra cash of $150 is worth it....
In his first post on this thread he said he ordered the extra wrapped for $150 more so I thought he ordered the new V5. The only other extra wrapped has a 2824 CHS timebomb

Pretty sure this is the one I ordered, but from Geek Time

It can't be bro, that one has a 2824 CHS timebomb movement. The true clone 3285 shown in your QC pic is not compatible with that case.
The $688 2824 CHS timebomb extra wrapped pre-dates the V3 by a year (look at the dates they were added to the catalog on Trusty). Though no version number is listed, this corresponds to a V2, all of which were ETA clones. Some were 2824 CHS, some were 2836 ICHS.
Yours has to be a V3/4/5 with SA3285
V3 - SA3285 only now (previously SA3186 NOT VR), normal plating only
V4 - SA3285 (VR3186 available on request), normal plating only
V5 - VR3186 only (advertised), normal or extra plating
So it appears you were shorted either the better movement or the extra plating.
Not my QC but this is a recent 'wrapped' GMF 126711CHNR, look at the improved insert font of the 1's! :bounce:
My poor wallet is going to hate me soon I think..
