I wonder if an element of the increase in price (albeit a small element) is because of the "TD customs guarantee"... normally if you buy from a TD and the watch gets caught by customs, the TD will ship you a replacement at no charge. Obviously the price we pay at TDs has an "insurance" margin built into it such that on average (at the rate that reps get seized) the TD can afford to buy a replacement rep from the factory (at whatever the TD's cost is) and ship the replacement to you without going out of business. But in this case since there is no factory to order a replacement from, I suspect Hont would have to offer a refund if the watch was taken by customs. So maybe part of that $888 is margin for Hont to have to offer full refunds if those sweet VSFs get seized.

I belive this is not the case the vsf sub is still listed on all the Td's websites still even tho it is out of stock and it is listed between $426-$550.....HONT is just capitalising on the fact he has a rare watch but it is narrow minded because I will not be pursuing this watch from him or any watch in the future.

I never really understand this type of thinking.
This is basic economics and you calling Hont "narrow minded" for selling very sought replicas at current market prices.
It would be narrow minded if he just put his few pieces up for the same price they were this summer when they were readily available.

Now everybody is looking for them and they are nowhere to be found.

I have to admit it does seem a little hypocritical to have no issue with TD's potentially profiteering (not saying they are, as costs and risks may well have increased sufficiently to warrant it, who knows) but police members very vigilantly for selling even a few bucks over what they may have paid for their noob 4130, for example (especially when the lists price is very rarely the sell price). Morally I guess it is the right thing for the forum, but I could see why people would potentially take umbrage and see flaws in the argument.

I also do not understand this policy why not allowing everybody to sell for the price they want to sell them at and if nobody wants to pay that price they will have to go lower eventually.

Because it stops any arguments and (I certainly feel) makes it a more fair and inclusive community, rather than exactly what you get in the gen game where people buy and flip watches for a huge profit.

If we allowed profiteering, I'm almost certain that prices would get out of hand because there will always be someone who will pay the ridiculous price for something which isn't worth it.

Rules are to be followed, it is not necessary to understand or agree with them.

Just my point of view and knowledge.
VS has not these yellowish stickers on the lugs on back..
jvs/vvsf yes. But may be wrong. But what I personally know is that to clarify the movement (3235) is the area at balance wheel.
I do not see that. Here:

For a 3135 is that engraving/stamp the main thing also for not „professionals“ to see on first sight:

Yes it’s one of those - overpriced but just so hard to get hold of it. Got plans to Franken at some stage but glad that it’s a real VSF

Wonder where he got the VSFs from…

Congrats. Yeah it’s like the noob Daytonas. If you want it and there is one left it’s just the matter who orders it atm. Simple.

So have fun with it no regrets

They may look the same to you but Clean case has wrong CG’s and Clean build quality can be poor. Screw the crown or spin the bezel on a clean and a VSF you’ll see the difference. One feels like a toy watch/$500 replica, the other feels pretty much like a Rolex/well finished high end luxury product.

just curious in your expert opinion what are the downside of the VSF subs?
