Is it possible to change movement from VR3135 to A2824?

Hi guys,
I have recently joined the forum. Reading here I saw that in case of malfunctions, it is not easy to find spare parts for superclone movements. Is it possible to replace, for example, a submariner with VR3135 an A2824? If I understand correctly, superclone movements and spare parts are not easy to find.

I would just source a new vr movement. Way less of a hassle IMO

Its possible yes but it has a few requirements, you gonna need new hands to fit the 2824, and also a new dial for 2824 because the datewheel of the 2824 does nto matches the current dial and also the 2824 will need a new DWO and a ring spacer, so probably you can consider to sell the current vr3135 and buy a 2824 version? ( if you have the tools and skills you only need the parts) do your maths

also its not a bad idea to service your vr3135 and should enlarge the life span in the ends this are reps enjpy them while they last and save for the gen!

hope it helps

tlabowski01 the problem is where to find it and if the price is worth it

I think TDs can source it for you. I’ve never personally sourced just a movement, but I’ve seen plenty of members across forums talk about how they did movement swaps from lower quality 3135 clones and upgraded to VR3135.

Is there anything currently malfunctioning with your VR3135? If not, maybe just have it serviced. It’s a good clone and should last a while.

Don't do it unless you want a lot of heartache and an empty wallet! I just did this recently...it was a nightmare trying to refit a 3135 dial to a 2824. Hands were almost impossible to find that were of descent quality. You will also need a movement spacer ring...that can also be a pain...you are better off to put your money in a descent 3135...if you are worried about it breaking on you, buy a back up movement and have it serviced. I am trying to save you from the mess I got myself into.

You should be able to find it on eBay or AliExpress, I don't know which sellers but someone might chime in to share more details

Thank you all guys. Actually mine is just curiosity, as I am about to buy my first replica (ZF Submariner 116610lv or ln), but before doing so I am reading a lot and I have seen that the 3135 is a fairly new movement and for this reason it is not clear the duration over time. I have also read that some users recommend a 2824 for this reason, which in case of breakage is easily replaced or repaired.
Being ignorant, I thought that in case of replacement it would be enough to take a 2824 and put it in place of the 3135, without too many modifications.

giovane_shepp actually both are solid movements for VR3135 and 2824. But for the 3135 rep just avoid SA3135 and SH3135. VS3135 is gen spec but the workmanship sometimes is a hit and miss situation. Both VR3135 and 2824 are easily repaired by any watch marker here.

For the 116610, if you want something close to gen then get the VR3135 movement. It functions and operates the same as gen except for the balance wheel and finishing of parts in gen.

But like all reps, due to the high turnover. Quality is often left neglected.

Thanks mate.

Thanks, you were very clear with the explanation. I'll take VR3135

thrillofhunt and tsyeo4 both offer VR3135s for sale here on the forum, both are trustworthy sellers.

I've bought a VR3135 from tsyeo4 in the past which he even serviced before shipping and it's an absolute beast. He sent me photos of all the process, and packed the movement perfectly. I would recommend him 150%

It's now in my ARF 16610LN and stays consistently at -1s/d, by the way. Really amazing.
