All feels pretty good. You have to understand that it's the first rep I've ever bought, so haven't really got the experience to be mega critical.

There are no gaps to the SELs, which seems to be a big bugbear people have on here! The clasp has a very positive action; bezel clicks around nicely and doesn't feel either too slack or stiff; winding/changing date seems very positive. Only slight issue seems to be the bezel alignment, which as the OP pointed out is slightly misaligned. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it.

If the bezel alignment is the price I pay for saving the best part of seven grand then I'm happy!
Looks nice mate. How is the bracelet and clasp? Is tje bracelet soft on the edges?

Great news, someone has one!

Can you post an in-focus pic of this buddy? I'd like to see how deep and sharp profiled the SEL midlink is..

..also, can you do this and report back if you can shave your fingernail or how easy or how difficult it is to shave your nail?

Can you confirm how it feels to unscrew, and screw back in the crown, does it feel rough or gritty in any way or is smooooooth?

Lastly, can you pop it on the scales and report back the weight in grams?

I think this looks great. Congratulations! Regarding the bezel alignment, try rotating backwards (to the right) a little. Sometimes there is a bit of backplay. You may be able to align it.

I'm very curious about what the power reserve on the new VR3235 movement is. Deerstalker99 I know it'll be hard not to wear your new sub constantly, but if possible I (and I'm sure others) would love to know how long the watch runs after it has been fully wound and then left stationary. The gen/vs3235 movement has a 72 hour power reserve, but since the VR3235 is a hybrid movement based on the 3135, it might only have a 48 hour power reserve. Inquiring minds want (dare I say, need) to know how this new Shanghai VR3235 movement stacks up.

I thought it was determined that this is indeed a clone 3235. There was a ton of chatter around the movement when this was first posted due to the lack of movement pictures, but I feel like I remember it being more than a hybrid movement. Then again, my brain does tend to turn to mush when I go down a nearly 50 page rabbit hole, so I welcome correction. In any case, I approved my QC a couple days ago and look forward to receiving what looks like a pretty good rep!

As far as I know (but also, not sure because 50 pages of discussion is a lot to sift through), the Shanghai 3235 (aka VR3235) is a hybrid movement that uses 3235-like parts on the bottom side and 3135-like parts on the dial side. But since we haven't seen one torn down yet, it's unknown how large the mainspring barrel is; and if it uses an asymmetric (not sure that's the right name) level escapement like the gen 3235 (apparently a good part of the gen's additional power reserve comes from a new pallet fork geometry which reduces sliding friction on pallet jewels -- or maybe I'm confusing this with the Omega dual axis escapement?) Regardless, it'd be great to know IRL what the power reserve is for this first example.

I’ll try and avoid wearing it and report back!

Hi,

Hope these photos are okay? Edges of links are crisp, but not sharp; they scratched my nail with moderate pressure.

crown unscrews smoothly, no rough feeling or grittiness.

it weighs 158 grams.

Again, I’m totally inexperienced with reps so you experts may have a very different opinion to me, but I’m happy with the watch and I guess at the end of the day that’s what matters?
