I dont think you judge properly. I have zero worries about the 30+ watches i have bought during close to 10 years now and never ever had. It was about the definition of the word. I said illegal in the same way that driving through a red light is illegal. I am not saying or said anything beyond that.

This becomes off topic. But ok. There is a clear law that prohibits driving over a red light. But there is no law that prohibits the possession of Reps. Let s try another example: It is by law forbitten to possess things like firearms or child pornography. There are laws, who regulate these things. Do you now understand, what I want to say? ;-)

If you can clarify why my comments are pissy and what you mean by that i can give you an answer to both. I really have no problem of someone making fun of me ( i am not that sensitive to the opinions of people i don't know ) but i expect them to have read and understood my comments. Its as simple as that. As far as the moderator is concerned ( i wont teat moderator differently than any other member ) it was regarding a deal gone wrong. If you read what it was that i replied to i don't see how that was pissy or anything of the sort. It was my opinion and i will stand by it

I never ever said or claimed that possessing a rep is illegal !! What i meant ,and to me was obvious , is that if i received it i could not go on ebay the next day and list Noob Rolex Sub for sale.
Lets leave it at that because things are getting out of hand...

I assure you I'm far more pedantic that you could ever be, I tend to turn it off on this forum, due to the language barriers, and it is never ever my intent to offend, but if you're going to try to make a point, at least get it grammatically correct, or I will make a point of correcting you.

I did find it funny, very actually, it gave me a chuckle tbh, and it is a forum so we are all equal. If others don't like it, c'est la vie, gave me a little chuckle and it's the weekend so definitely a time to chill out.

I suggest you do the same, or not, "to each their own" as you say, whatever floats your boat, it's your call.

None of us commenting on this thread, from what I can see anyway, are TDs, none of us, as far as I know, are members of the Chinese police, or intellectual property police/lawyers or members of the American/Swiss/Chinese Government/ bureaucracy, so this whole thread is supposition and entirely theoretical - we don't know until we know, that is where we are, those are the facts.

Some of the posters are posting actual updates from TDs etc, which I, and I'm sure other members, very much appreciate, and its helpful because it gives fellow members valid information as opposed to you.

You seem intent on arguing with others and are posting theoretical hypotheses, so explain how that is helpful to the conversation at hand.

The only thing that matters is who exactly is opening when - that's all members care about

That's the only question members are concerned with, not international legalities or "what if's"

All i will say is repeat what you said last time we had a disagreement. Lets agree to disagree. I appreciate you comment and perhaps some other time, if you where interested , i could explain my points of view on this matter better. I am not trying to be clever in here or anything of the sort. I have personally been arrested with a replica in my possession (unrelated to watches) and there was no crime that the district attorney was able to charge me with. Possession of a rep like another member said is not a crime or illegal.

Someone else touched on the worry I am about to speak to earlier, but my worry is this: Back in the day China did not care much about about the rep game because their direct income from the gen products were minimal. I worry that the tide has shifted and the taxable income from luxury goods has reached a point where it has become more in their interest to protect the producers of gen items rather than turn a blind eye to the production of replicas.

I hope everything gets back to normal with reps, but I have this sinking feeling in my gut that we are at the changing of an era. I have seen clamp downs start first with a large reduction in obvious fakes on AliExpress, then iOffer got taken out and DHgate changed their search making finding reps in many categories much harder and the selection dropped by 75% in some categories or brands.

I fear for a future where the risks of manufacturing replicas are so harsh that the risk to profit ratio means that producing low quality fast is the only way to live for the producers. I fear in the future that anything that wont make back the initial investments in a couple of months will not be made.

You might wanna check out TaoBao and Weidian. They put ioffer as a joke....
