Another shout out for "Watch Repair Channel." For my interests the BEST watch-related YouTube channel, and the one I spend the most time on. It is also the best channel to put on to get your girlfriend to fall asleep, if she will even allow you to switch to it. "And now we must be very careful in selecting the proper screw to insert into this slot for the main plate" is not exactly something most people consider fun to watch.
While I quit my membership and subscription to Hodinkee, their videos benefit quite alot from superior production and "A List" guests who have interesting stories to tell. So I also watch those as well.
The success story of Hodinkee is probably the inspiration for many of the follow-on independents who started up their own channel, but I also think it has alot to do with people like Gary Vaynerchuk, who did the same thing on You Tube but with luxury wine, through his "Wine Library TV" channel, and now runs a mid-size online marketing consultancy channel and writes inspirational how-to-succeed books, etc.
