A good friend of mine does custom woodwork and I asked him for a box to hold my collection. I gave him complete creative freedom and what he's doing is pretty cool to see.
He used a process I've never seen done before to achieve a unique effect.
Quick disclaimer *do not try this at home*
He used a custom built lichtenberg wood burner to create this burnt fractal effect. Through this process he was able to zap the wood to an incredible finish. The grain looks absolutely stunning. I will post more pics as work is done on it.
