Hi guys, as you can probably see I am new to this forum.

I purchased a GMT from China Noob Factory, within the month it stops working - after reading some threads on this forum I can see that the movements always bust!

The Noob Factory won’t refund me or replace the watch intact they have been very unhelpful.

I need help/advice.

Ok, a few questions. First, who exactly did you buy it from? What version is it? Is it a CHS movement or ICHS? Can you be more specific on what exactly it's doing (or not doing)? Can you post some pictures?

chinanoobwatch is known for scamming people (as he is not a TD), overcharge, selling overpriced reps and ship not what they advertise - in the end they don't even offer a kind of a guarantee if the watch arrives broken. In your case you have to deal with the problem at your own - get it serviced from one of the known watchmakers here near you.

Sad to hear your story but thats just how it is even with movements like yours. Next time inform yourself a bit over here and be prepared hehe - it will help you a lot - there is plenty of valuable information regarding every topic you could possibly think of.

You purchased from a well-known scam site, no wonder they won't replace the watch or refund you. Next time use the TDs listed on this forum (InTime, PureTime, etc.)

Can you post a couple of pictures? I suspect its a CHS movement which are probably one of the most unreliable movements around right now. What exactly is it doing? With the pictures, I'm looking for the handstack specifically to verify the order of the hands. Below are a couple of pictures of mine which is genuine for comparison.

The CHS version which movement is known to break down. It cannot be repaired from what I heard as it's all customized parts.

There are plenty of great people here who will give you good advice, but the one thing everyone will tell you is always use a TD. Good luck with your next purchase mate.

Before you order do as much research as you can, that way you will know what to look for in your qc pictures. The link you have added is for a very good rep and you will be very happy with it.

I don’t know about the movement of the watch you posted. But I can tell you for sure that the colour of the number on the insert are slightly off!

The base movement is a 2836 which has been modified significantly. The modification is where noob has failed as the most common failure point is a small spring which tends to break if you move the hour hand anticlockwise. This piece is custom and replacements are not available. while the base movement is servicable, I wouldn't mess with it unless necessary as they are fragile and noob will not sell the movement separately should an issue arise.

I got the watch from chinanoobwatch. I know I was scammed.

Just to clarify the watch is 1 month old and does not work - keeps the time for 1-2 mins - I paid almost $500

Please see below for pictures:

The 'Cloned' 3186 movement - I find it strange, this movement looks the same as other TD websites.

The 'Cloned' 3186 movement - I find it strange, this movement looks the same as other TD websites.

That is because every other TD offers the same watch - even though for a different price the watch and the movement is the same on all noobs of this version.

What the majority is trying to say is - this movement in particular is known for its unreliability.

When we say you were scammed - we more or less mean that a TD would have offered a free service of the movement/ repair while you would have to pay for the reshipping and take all the risk of the watch being seized on its way back to china.

In the end you can be lucky that you got what you ordered - you just made the wrong decision regarding the movement choice - and that is something you can see as "instructive money" and as a lesson for the next time.

Now you can have the experience and the will to invest time into reading about your favorite watches and their particular rep which fits your preferences the best. It could have been worse than this. So keep your head up.

Servicing the movement is probably not the best thing you can do... maybe have a look at a watch smith that can replace the movement to a 2836 with GMT function - should work since the base of your 3186 clone is a modified 2836 like already said.

only thing he will need is a new movement and probably a new hand set. Otherwise - see it as a bespoken lesson for your life and give one of many TDs a try with a new watch. Would be less complicated.
