Date Window Idiosyncrasy

I was just wondering if I am the only one not liking date windows, especially the ones @4 and - :mad: - @6 (more and more ubiquitous lately).

Most of the time, in my opinion, they:

1 - break the harmony of the dial, (in particular if they are too big/small, unevenly distanced from the bezel, using weird fonts etc.);

2 - add a superfluous element of distraction (c'mon, who uses to look at watches for the date anymore?)

3 - are a nuisance when one needs to set the current day after some time that a watch has not been used

I don't know if that's just me. Any other fellow date window hater around?

:rollingeyes:

I certainly prefer a watch without one and certainly agree with points 1 and 3.

My favourite dial is a 3, 6 and 9 so no room for a date window.

That's the great thing about watches - we each have our own tiny details that we either love or hate, and there's always a model that will eventually change your mind. ;)

Not as bad as the damned big hole chopped in the dial of AP 15400s to make them tourbys. And that's on the gen! Though I think they now have a new tapisserie designed for the job at last which looks slightly better.
