Some of us (OK, I) have wrists that don't accommodate 50mm watches, much less 45mm watches.

I get that some pilots and divers have practical reasons to be that large.

For those who neither dive nor pilot, or who appreciate retro style, it is gratifying to see makers dedicate resources to making smaller watches.

39, 38, 36mm. Who is with me?

It's horses for courses. If I am wearing a suit, then I don't wear a large watch with it. Something around 38mm is best. Otherwise, I will happily wear a watch up to say 43mm, with a bulkier profile.

36-40mm is the sweet spot on my 6.75” wrist
You need to try out the daytona man . You will love the size and fit . It's just the perfectly balanced watch .. and the sub offcourse

It seems that "vintage" or mid-century designs are now fashionable. So the cases are more authentic in scale.

Granted, if you've been wearing a Super Avenger for years, a 36mm Black Bay will look tiny until you get used to it.

My first watch was a 36mm Waltham diver. I still have it. Never in fashion, always in style, that's my motto. :D

Agree. Being he same size I thought I’d never be able wear a 41mm 15400 but the lugs sit within the edges of my wrist. The 40mm sub fits perfect

It seems as if the lug-to-lug dimension is more important, regardless. I have a 44mm Sinn diver (EZM 5) with stubby lugs. Works just fine.

I have flipped 42mm watches (Hamilton, I am looking at you) with long lugs that hung over the sides of my wrist.

That's a valid point. I have no problem wearing 47mm PAMs due to their short throw lugs but, for formal wear, my 36mm King Seiko is elegant and doesn't fight with my shirt cuff for wrist space. That said, if I am in jeans and a T-shirt the Seiko looks a bit.... undernourished.

Love 34-36mm pieces, but they're scarce in the rep space unfortunately. Wish the factories would look more into such pieces :)
