I'm considering buying the Omega 300m v2 mkf, it comes with an a2824-2 movement. I'll be using it daily, that's why I'm curious on knowing which one is the best. That way I can pick a reliable watch that needs less service. I live in Sweden and unfortunately, I haven't found any good watch smith here (overpriced and unknowing). No way they know how to service these movements :p

i always choose by design, never have a problem with rep movement. May need service or some easy fix, afterall you can buy a new one for 50$..
You need a watch smith, forum has a lot with good reputation.

Which watches are they in? 12 years is impressive.

Some of my old collection, Pam 005 21J, 2x IWC 3717, IWC Laureus, Sait Exupery and Spitfire with A7750, Pam 308 clone Venus, Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow A7750, Omega Speedmaster with asian clone Venus 75, Tag Link Chrono A7750, Pam 250G A7753, Pam 249 A6497, Omega Planet Ocean A7750, Ebel Discovery chrono A7750, Baume & Mercier Riviera XXL chrono A7750. All of these bought between 2006 and 2009. All still running, some serviced by a friend of mine from Germany(professional watchmaker). [h=1][/h]

The Asian 2824-2 is a clone of the Swiss ETA 2824-2 the most commonly used movement is Swiss and German watches . If the watch smith you have found doesn't know how to service a 2824 he shouldn't be called a watch smith .

To be honest you are asking about movements , but the only question you really want answered is ' will the sweep on the second hand give away that I am wearing a replica watch ? ' . The answer is No .

I prefer A2892 as i think it gives you similar reliability as a miyota but without the rotor noise...why are not more rep makers using it?

I tried to stick with 2824 movement. 7750 only if its a chrono (but even then i try to avoid chrono). Good to know Miyota is also reliable...

edit: also tried to avoid 3xxx movement since some said they are unreliable (cannot verify) but noticed a lot of popular noobs and JF rolex models user this movement - which is a dilemma to me...
