Rolex Explorer I 214270 JF v2 Waterproof?

I am currently thinking of buying a Rolex Explorer I 214270 JF v2. I like to wear my watches while I shower and take them for the occasional light swim so I was wondering... If I apply silicone grease to my JF v2, should that be enough to make it water resistant enough to shower with it and perhaps even take it for a light swim? I've owned a couple of Noob v5 Submariners that I applied silicone grease to and never had any problems with water getting in. Do any of you have any experience waterproofing a JF v2 and if so, what have been your results? Thanks.

Odds are you will be fine. Testing by a watchsmith should be completed before to verify its good. Sometimes the crystal needs to be repressed. There are always a few that have case imperfections preventing a good seal and water resistance so no guarantees.
