Multiple lists refer to the "Cartier Santos XL V6" as NWBIG. I have found that all the TDs list the Cartier Santos XL as 40mm, which is the "Large" version in Cartier, not the "Extra Large" as reflected by the "XL" in their descriptions. In addition, there is an "XL" in the Santos 100 version, but that too is larger than 40mm.

Aside from the fact that it lacks a low-beat movement, is there an aesthetic reason as to why the XF 15706au (FC) isn’t considered NWBIG?

First of all let me say thank you for your great job. Really helpful for everybody’s quick research.
Then, is there any chance to inset the IWC 3890-01 i this list? Or my blind eyes are so glued to see any big tells in it?

Well, firstly, you realize that the concept of "worth" is subjective. I don't know what constitutes as "consensual", but I never subscribe to such a list, and I have my own standard on what is NWBIG.
That said, OP has put together a very cogent list for newcomers to have an idea. Thank you OP!

To answer your question, the XF15706 is a very good replica IMHO, but definitely not 1:1. It IS, as a matter of fact, on my personal NWBIG list.
But at the end of the day, you should not look to buy a watch just because its on the list, or not consider it just because its not, if you are not looking to pass it off as gen.
I have mentioned this many times before, just buy what you like and wear it. For the price of a replica watch, the novelty value is stupendous, whatever you choose.

I agree wholeheartedly and truth-be-told I have very few friends who are truly into watches and most of them wouldn't know the difference between a gen and DHgate cheapie so I'm not at all concerned with passing it off as gen. That being said I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself and I feel like most of the fun of reps comes in modding them and improving on them in the all elusive pursuit of getting them as close to gen as possible (although most would argue this is a futile task, but imho its half the fun of the rep world). Which is ultimately the reason why i posed this question. I feel like to start the journey you need to start with a solid base to build on and the XF 15706au seems to be just that. Curious to hear what mods you would opt to do if you were going down this path (although I don't want to stray too far off the main topic of this particular post haha)

I think we are still on topic, if we are discussing the 15706, which I do consider to be a NWBIG rep.
And yes, what you said makes sense if you are seeking to please yourself by modding any given watch you own to your standard.

I will recommend the following mods:

1. Low beat conversion, service and regulation
2. Cyclop replacement
3. Matte FC case and make marbling more pronounced
4. Waterproofing
5. For dials with the wrong finish, mattifying the dial is good too.

IMHO The XF15706 is actually the closest we have to a "super rep" (colloquially used, though I disagree that any AP rep is super in that I can tell that every stock AP rep is what it is). The XF15706 may be well-touted as an impressive replica, but members always overlook that one look at the case marbling and finish is all it takes to call it out, if you know what the gen AP forged carbon cases look like. The finish is too glossy, and the marbled "grains" are too thin and too dispersed in many of them. The gen is quite the opposite, with matte finish and wide swarths and patches of grey/white marbling, which is pretty distinctive from 1 meter away if you know what to look for. Granted, each FC case is pretty organic and distinct, but the way that the marbling patterns run is pretty consistent. I have spotted more than 10 rep AP FCs in the wild (GP, Bumblebee and most often the FC diver) based on the case appearance.
You can PM me if you want to take this discussion further. I agree with you that we should adhere to the purpose of this topic.

Also worth noting that there is a lot of variation between the MK / MKF Cellinis. A lot of them have super wrong knurled bezel that looks like a () cut instead of a || cut.

Wrong cut: https://www.intime05.co/5852-91844-t...trap-a3165.jpg

Correct cut: https://www.intime05.co/3807-51105-t...trap-a3132.jpg

I can't find a pattern of versions/models/colors that have correct and incorrect cuts. It seems more are incorrect than correct.

If anyone who knows more than I can chime in as to what the pattern is for the ones with the proper cut I'd love to hear it.

Other MKF issues: crown is wrong shape (not curved enough), coronet shape (especially the open circle) is wonky, and dial markers are frequently misaligned in QC pics

Frankly any of the issues are glaring enough to not be worth first class designations in my opinion, but he knurling is the worst offender and is immediately obvious.

I think there is a probably a factory/version/color/dial combination out there that might be first class worthy but it's very time consuming to catalog all the various issues and to find high quality photos of every version/dial/color/factory to compare

Mostly just posting this so that someone doesn't go buy a random MKF expecting first class and gets something like the wrong cut photo above

Thanks for this info. Easily overlooked. Any thoughts on the KZF Cellini 50509s? They're a whopping $90 more than the MKF but can't find any info of them here.

[Exhaustive Consensual List] Commonly accepted as Super Reps NWBIGs -

Jaeger-LeCoultre Diver Master Compressor Noob

For your consideration:

This may have been mentioned before, but after reading about this one deeply in consideration of purchase, it is my humble opinion that it would not qualify under the "Super Rep" category as per the definition posted.

I do believe it is definitely excellent, and is a major NWBIG, but not "super rep" for reasons listed below:

From the front:
SWISS MADE text at the 6 position is too big and not positioned correctly,
The date in the window is not centered,

From the back:
The caseback relief is seemingly more shallow, somewhat flat, not as fluid.

Compared to the 2 noob products from trusty's site:

Super Reps Temple
i appreciate the list, I really do. but can the Superreps be listed in two lists? One: HISTORIC SUPER REP
(no longer sold at TDs), and Two: CURRENT PRODUCTION SUPER REP. (available at TDs) because I keep looking and its not made anymore... very frustrating for many people i can guess.

Nope, it would take too much work, sorry. This question has already been answered many times before, plus you can still find all reps, even the old ones, in the m2m frequently.

How about the XF 15202 / 15202IP V2 for first class ish? I understand it may not be NWBIG because ppl who are considering buying this in GEN are looking for something no chinese guy can provide yet... (im chinese so I can say that LOL) whereas um... I wonder if AP have any chinese people working there.. hmmm .. anyway, I have been comparing it via videos and photos, and it appears to look pretty darn for something on wrist.. I read that the hand hole area being too big was an issue, but it looks like this one has it a bit smaller? maybe?

I will link some links I been looking at..

After owning this rep for 3 months now, I must say two things:
1. It's a cool watch
2. But not a super rep. Definitely NWBIG.

I'm not even talking about the SWISS MADE - I have a gen dial (damaged) that I bough to fix and franken the watch, and to be honest, the dials are almost indistinguishable. But the general quality, the mystical "feel", is kinda cheap. It needs a profX and a gen eta and probably some mods to the bezel. Cool watch, but definitely does not feel like a super rep.

Just my $0.02

Hi friends !

I have a question about the Audemars Piguet ROO Diver JF 10 from the super reps list.

On puretime I found 2 models, the 15710 and the 15703 ... Can you tell me which of these two was considered a super rep?

Because not the same thickness and the background looks different.

Thanks everyone!
